Call me old-fashioned, but I was strangely happy to see an end to the Katy-Taylor feud.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

I thought you’d all be over this record sale news for sure!

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/ne...atalog-1221916

I’m not sure I fully understand how this went down. I think Taylor had the opportunity to buy her catalogue, but declined the offer. Now the label decided to sell to an entity chaired by an individual who she’s long had issues with. Now she’s going public with the claim she has been wronged.

First article I read, I think I was on her side. Now looking at other articles, and the business aspect, I comes off like she’s just trying to issue and emotional PR blitz. If she really wants to help young artists avoid the same fate, I feel like she could have accomplished the same means in a more productive manner.

She said she wasn't allowed to buy the rights back, or she would have.

Was in Nashville Wednesday to see Jeff Lynne's ELO at Bridgestone Arena. Walking from our hotel to the show we passed by this...

At first glance I wasn't exactly certain what I was looking at, and for a brief moment I thought it might be her own personal place to get tutoring. Lol. I figured it out eventually, but there has to be less awkward way of naming that. Imagine the field day the media would have, and the belittlement they would happily wallow in, if that had Trump's name on it instead of Swift.

The difference is that Trump is known to be incredibly ignorant. I'm not saying Swift is a genius or anything, but I wouldn't say ignorance is one of her primary characteristics.

At first glance, I would have thought that what's on the sign is the less awkward way of naming it "Taylor Swift Museum and Place of Worship", being a place where you go learn all about her and get educated on why you should be a follower. A cult, I guess would be the operative term here.

I thought she was smart or had smart advisors so she would never give up control of her Big Machine catalog.

It is almost impossible to stream her Netflix concert in HD and 5.1 sound.

Don't know why since I streamed Will You Be My Maybe and that was ok and went back to the Swift show and it was still 480p or 280p.

Kid Rock is not a fan

Kid Rock came out of nowhere on Friday morning to attack Taylor Swift for her political beliefs and accuse her of using sex to get famous. It's unclear what sparked Rock's Twitter attack (he hardly ever tweets) but he did not mince words when it comes to his feelings about Swift."Taylor Swift wants to be a democrat because she wants to be in movies….period," he wrote. And it looks like she will suck the door knob off Hollyweird to get there. Oldest move in the book. Good luck girl."

He's a has-been trying to get some attention by taking potshots at someone immensely more famous than him.

Did Kid Rock release a new album after 2010?

His last hit was probably in 2001.

Apparently he has released 3 of them, but I haven't listened to any of them. He still does tons of concerts in this area, though. He typically does 6+ dates in a row here. I haven't been to one since the early 2000's though.

They are all terrible. They are mostly country type songs and they all suck.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

She takes a lot of shit from people but does a lot of good stuff that does not get a lot of publicity

For Ayesha Khurram, an Ontario university student and huge fan of Taylor Swift, life has just gotten a whole lot easier.Swift sent $6,386.47 to Khurram through PayPal on Monday after the Mississauga, Ont. resident posted on Tumblr on the weekend about her struggles to pay tuition this semester.

Khurram, 20, who met Swift last year after the singer performed in Toronto, is a University of Waterloo accounting and financial management student going into second year. She says she didn't know how she and her parents were going to afford her schooling this year and asked online for help.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

That was good for her to do that but how can you say that she's not getting publicity for it when all of the Canadian Media are talking about this?

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

I like her, too, and am hoping the new album is better than Reputation. I only dug a handful of songs on that one. Contractual obligation albums, amiright?

In this week's Target insert there's a promotion where you get a $5 gift card if you buy ALL FOUR exclusive editions. At $18 a pop, that's kinda crazy, but I guess I could see some of her superfans doing that. Maybe pooling with their friends. Last time Target had two different magazines for the album. (I'm pretty sure my niece got both.) They're really stepping things up.
