The video is brimming with life. It's very fun. The song is sullen and dull.

It's a good showcase of LA's Biltmore Hotel. They should have had a Ghostbusters cameo.

I like Reputation and this album blows away the album Katy Perry put out in 2017.

And Lorde's 2017 album Melodrama blows them both away.

I own all 3 albums but I listen to Reputation the most (more catchy and faster songs) and the Katy Perry album I have not listened to once in 2018.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

There might be a bidding war once her deal with Big Machine Records expires in Nov

Swift’s most recent album, Reputation, which came out last November, was her last under her current contract with Big Machine and she will become a free agent this November.

Big Machine has been negotiating hard to re-sign Swift for months, multiple sources say, but as of her big Nashville homecoming show on Saturday night at Nissan Stadium, no deal had been reached. While talks with BMLG have not ceased, she is now also talking with other labels to evaluate how much she is worth on the open market as one of the world’s biggest superstars. “Everyone is starting to sniff around,” says a source.

While BMLG can likely match any deal that any other label would offer her financially, at the heart of Swift’s discussions with BMLG are her gaining ownership of her masters from the label, which is the one thing that no other entity can offer her. But that is not an easy decision for Big Machine.

“What’s the value of these masters going to be over the next 30 years? And you have to weigh that against, what is the value of keeping the artist for four or so more albums?” says one source. “You’re weighing out the value of the back catalog versus the value of a few new albums.”

And boy did it sound like it. She pulled a textbook contractual obligation album out of her little white ass.

It always seems like the reviews leave that piece of information out at the time of release.

Re: Taylor Swift -- Discussion Thread

I wonder why she has not released any new singles or videos from Reputation?

"Delicate" was the last single and video.

My kids randomly played 1989 the other day, and it has so many good songs, while Reputation never grabbed me at all. I hope the next one will be more like 1989 or Red.

Ready For It, Delicate, End Game were singles and King of My Heart, Dancing with our Hands Tied, Dress, and Call It What You Want should have been pushed as singles.

I skimmed through some of that concert on Netflix, stopping from time to time to listen to snippets of some of the songs and see what kind of performer she is. Good god, is she boring as fuck.

I saw her live in 2009, back when she was still country. She wasn't the greatest singer live, but there was an energy she had playing with the actual band on that smaller scale. I like her pop material, but I wonder if it also reveals some of her vocal limitations in an overpolished live setting without a band to pump some life into it.

Still amazing she is probably the biggest pop star of the 21st century and she still has not done the Super Bowl halftime show.

She does ads for Coke. The Super Bowl halftime show is always sponsored by Pepsi.

She has a new duet with a guy from a band I don't like.

I like the stuff from Reputation better.
