What's Modest Mouse like live?
 

They are coming to town for a club show in June. I've never seen 'em live.
I've heard/read that they can be either amazing live or downright sloppy
and ragged.
Has anybody seen them recently? I know they don't have a new album out yet, and I wonder if they are gonna play any new material.

I saw them about five years ago, and I thought it was a very good show (not incredible, but it wasn't ragged.) They might have been under some influences though since it took them ten minutes to come back out for their encore (claiming they had gotten lost backstage.)

Have seen them 3 times and all were excellent. The last time was a few years ago though.

I saw them about 6 or 7 years ago.
It was downright sloppy and ragged. They had about 2 or 3 minutes between every single song. That's fine if they're being chatty with the audience, but that was not the case. They were fussing with their instruments, lighting, etc, and never acknowledged the delay.
I hear they have improved significantly since those days, though.

Saw them a few times. They come out and do their thing. I'm an obsessed fan. So I enjoy every variation and live performance I can take in.

They're pretty sloppy and they don't play long, in my experience. Not bad though.

I've seen them twice. I really like the band a lot, but they were two of the worst concerts I've ever seen. Horribly sloppy.

Saw them about 15 years ago, they weren't memorable but I chalked that up to just starting out

Either sloppy, or awesome. You never know what you're gonna get but either way it's good stuff. Hell, Issac could slice himself open with a knife if you're lucky. I missed that night, went the night before :(
