Re: What concert did you recently attend?

U2 at Boston Garden. The last time I saw them was 1985, on the Unforgettable Fire tour.

I rarely see any bands that have any kind of video/stage show, so that's not really my thing--but this was kind of neat and interesting. The whole band playing in completely different parts of the building was pretty cool. And, they did sound awesome. I mostly know their old stuff, but City of Blinding Lights really stood out to me as fantastic live.

Pretty happy with the setlist, too:

Spoiler:
1. The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone)
2. The Electric Co.

(with "Send In The Clowns" and… more )
3. Vertigo
4. I Will Follow
5. Iris (Hold Me Close)
6. Cedarwood Road
7. Song for Someone
8. Sunday Bloody Sunday

(with "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" snippet)
9. Raised by Wolves

(with "Psalm 23" snippet)
10. Until the End of the World

(with "Love And Peace Or Else" snippet)
The Wanderer
11. Invisible
12. Even Better Than the Real Thing
13. Mysterious Ways

(with "Burning Down The House"… more )
14. Elevation
15. The Crystal Ballroom

(with "Miss You" snippet)
16. All I Want Is You
17. Every Breaking Wave

(acoustic)
18. With or Without You
19. City of Blinding Lights
20. Bullet the Blue Sky
21. Pride (In the Name of Love)

(with "The Hands That Built America" segue)

Encore:

22. Beautiful Day

(with "Ultraviolet (Light My… more )

23. Where the Streets Have No Name

(with "Mother and Child… more )

24. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For

(with "People Have The Power" snippet)

Just got back from An Acoustic Evening with Kiss at the San Manuel Casino Theater. It was a terrific show and Gene played his new Punisher acoustic bass. It sounded great! it was a 20-song setlist. Eric sang Mainline and Beth and parts of Kissin' Time and parts of Nothin't To Lose. He's got a damn good voice now.

Saw Lady A June 27th in Irvine and just saw The Band Perry this past Thursday in Costa Mesa. Have Mumford and Sons, Rise Against, Foghat/Deep Purple, Taylor Swift, The Who, AC/DC, and Evanescence lined up still.

I missed this question. Their set was at about 7 pm, so no light show.

Saw Built To Spill last week. I've seen 'em a few times before, but they seemed reinvigorated this time - love their 3-way guitar attack. I liked the new songs good enough to go out and buy their new album later - highly recommended!

How was it? I wanted to go, but saw the price and wasn't going to pay the price. Manson is coming back in October, but damn if it isn't $60 to see him =/

It was my first time seeing him and while I never disliked his music I don't own any of it either so I'm probably not the best to judge. To me it was quite a show and certainly never dull during his set. The Pumpkins were good but Corgan gave off the "Rather be anywhere else than here" vibe throughout the show. When there was "polite" applause at the end of one of the newer songs he sarcastically said "Gee, thanks."

What little I've read indicates that Manson is attempting to give a shit this time around, and that it's better than several of the previous tours. That could mean anything, since the last few times I've seen Manson it's been awful.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Good to know about Manson. The last time I saw him (2 years ago or so) it was a small set at a small venue without much interaction. He's still playing at a small venue, but if he's giving a shit, might be worth it. As for Corgan, that does suck. He kind of gives off a bad vibe.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Last night we went to Steely Dan with Elvis Costello opening. I'm a Steely Dan fan and we've seen them the last five summers - kind of a boy's night out. Regardless, seeing EC is special. He's just phenomenal live. It's like they scheduled this tour with me in mind. Anyway, doors were at 7pm and we got there about 7:45, killed a beer in the parking lot and walked in. Jumped in a beer line that was slow as hell. About 8:15pm I hear the music start. Fuck! Going to miss Elvis' fist song. A few more minutes pass and another song starts. I'm getting pissed, almost to the front when I realize what song I'm listening to - Black Cow.

What the fuck?! I'm beyond pissed. Finally sit down as the Dan starts Aja. I search online and quickly discover from a tweet that Elvis went on at 7am to an almost empty arena. How in the holy fuck? He played 13 songs and was off before we walked in at about ten to eight.

I've seen hundreds of shows and I've never missed a band I've wanted to see. Arrived a few songs late but never completely missed the ball like this. How could doors be at 7pm and he goes on immediately. Boggles my mind. The ticket clearly states doors at 7pm.

Good show but I'm still kinda bummed about the whole thing. I just don't get it.

Aside from the Warped Tour, I've never been to a concert that has had a band start as soon as the doors opened. Has anyone afterwards mentioned that the doors might have opened early for some reason?

My Morning Jacket last night. It was my fourth time seeing them and they were fantastic as always.

I'm kinda bummed, had tickets for last nights show as well, totally sold out, tons of fans trying to get in. Got through most of the opener and my wife got ill, had to go outside, and we ended up leaving before they came on. I wish I could have given the tickets to another fan to get in with...

Stiff Little Fingers at the Belly Up in Solana Beach CA

Man, I'm really hitting up the 70s punks in 2015. Already seen The Dickies, X, The Rezillos, and now SLF.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Finally got to see Faith No More (they haven't been round these parts in a long time). Great show but it was amusing see the clash of types in the pit as most were (like myself) people of a certain age mixed with millennial moshers. My pics from the show = https://www.flickr.com/photos/223254...57654308047254

Saw The Offspring and Fear last night at The Hollywood Palladium. It was fun show. Offspring played most of their hits and I was surprised to hear them play "Staring At The Sun". Fear was okay. With the exception of 3 songs, all of them sounded the same.

Dubya,

We seem to be hitting the same shows! Saw both MMJ and FNM.

Both were great, was super pumped that FNM busted out 'A Small Victory' for the first time in 5 years.
