Re: What concert did you recently attend?
I was in San Francisco last week for work, and caught a couple shows at the Fillmore. Boy George was actually kind of boring - almost every song had the same mid-temp feel. On the other hand, the Jason Isbell the following night was outstanding - great voice, great guitar playing, and really strong songwriting!

Re: What concert did you recently attend?
A few shows scheduled for this summer.
Outkast and whatever else is playing Sat at the Bottlerock Napa fest. I wanted to see the Cure but can't make it.
Macca at Candlestick, second row seats with wife and daughters.
And finally the only concert that I actually really wanted to go, NIN and Soundgarden at Mountain View.
Hopefully I can add something more that I like.

Tokyo Police Club and Said the Whale, who were both incredible. Oh Geographer was the 2nd act, and they were not incredible, but did provide time to get a couple more drinks.

Took my daughter to see Christina Perri at the Wiltern last night. Birdy was the opening act. I wasn't exactly a 'fan', but I have to say that Perri put on a great show. Her smile is infectious .

I went to a local music festival last night. Saw Foghat (better than I was expecting), Joan Jett (also better than I was expecting) and Cheap Trick (who were great as usual)

Re: What concert did you recently attend?
I'm so, so jealous. I've lived in Vegas for 11 years and in that time he's NEVER come here. I'd spend $1000 per ticket to see him if I could, but don't want to travel for a concert. I kept thinking he'd include a West Coast leg on this tour but he never did.
I heard him on XM last night before the last Mohican Sun show and he said they're taking an extended break for a while. Hope I do get a chance to see him again (saw the band in '89 and '99), but I worry I might have missed my chance...

Saturday, May 3, 2014: Birdy and Christina Perri - Big fan of both of them and had a lot of fun at the concert. Birdy did a meet and greet afterward which was nice too. I've been a fan of hers ever since hearing her Skinny Love cover and her voice sounds incredible live. You can tell she is still getting used to performing live, but that makes sense given her age (17, I believe). Still, she is someone to keep an eye on in the music world. Christina Perri was a ton of fun and despite some technical problems, never let the crowd get bored and kept the energy up the entire night. It's easy to see why she has become so popular over the years.
Friday, May 16, 2014: Cyndi Lauper and Cher - Cyndi Lauper is goofy fun, but Cher really is an icon and it was great to get the chance to see her live. She looks and sounds great for her age and the show was a ton of fun.
Saturday, May 17, 2014: The Roots - Ended up catching this show by chance, but they put on one hell of a show.
Monday, May 19, 2014: Storyman, Sugar + The Hi-Lows, and Ingrid Michaelson - Storyman (formerly known as The Guggenheim Grotto) caught me by surprise and were quite fantastic. Wasn't really a fan of Sugar + The Hi-Lows, specifically the female vocalist Amy Stroup who I thought was underwhelming. Ingrid Michaelson (one of my favorite artists) did not disappoint. She has a great personality and seemed like she was having a lot of fun. She has a great voice, whether in the studio or in concert, and I'd highly recommend anyone who hasn't seen her perform to try and see her at some point.

Devildriver
Whitechapel
Revocation
other bands I don't remember.
The sound was awful, and none of the bands excited me much. I used to like Devildriver quite a bit, but haven't followed them in a few years. Whitechapel had 3 guitarists, and couldn't play anything exciting.

Won Lotto Tickets to Jack Johnson at the Orpheum Theater. Much smaller than any place I've seen him. He allows taping (Audio)! I got the complete thing on audio, and 12 songs on video.

5/27/14: Naked & Famous w/ Strange Babies, White Sea.
Missed the opener, White Sea were really good, featured Morgan Kibby from M83. N&F were fantastic, sounded incredible.

Just saw Brody Dalle at the Observatory in Santa Ana. I'm not too familiar with her output from the Distillers days, but she tore the roof off the place. 60 minute set, mosh pit, she even did a stage dive at one point. Awesome show.

Saw Galactic and Widespread Panic last night (they played two nights downtown, but I could only make the second night). Great show, they killed it on Red Hot Mama.
