Just got back home - saw S U R V I V E and they were really fucking cool. They played the majority of their album hits and only did the theme to Stranger Things towards the end of the set. Saw them out here at the Echoplex in Echo PArk/Hollywood. It was a sold out show, too.

I hope you realize how lucky you are. I've lived in Las Vegas for over thirteen years, we have a metro population of over 2 million people and he has never come here in that entire time. Not even once. It annoys the shit out of me.

I saw Failure perform all of "Fantastic Planet" the other night. It was, fittingly, fantastic.
I was there, too. It was fucking boring. I love their music quite a bit but it was four dudes standing behind keyboards, not saying a word, with zero visuals or excitement. Everyone seemed checked out until they played the "Stranger Things" theme, at which point half the crowd pulled out their phones. Yawn.

Just saw Alice Cooper for the fourth time last Thursday. There wasn't an opener on this tour, so he played for about two hours. I really wish he would do a small tour with the surviving members of the original Alice Cooper group.

Yeah, they need better visuals. I was buzzed, so the lights and fog machine helped. Also, they should have acknowledged the crowd. That place is hipster central, though, so it's no surprise folks checked out. When we left the outside patio was packed.

I'm surprised he didn't add T-Mobile during the full River dates.

I saw Adele on Friday. What an incredible concert. Her voice in person is out of this world. And she is hilarious to boot. Her in-between-song banter was cracking everyone up. She seems really nice too, inviting various people up who were celebrating their birthdays or wanted to propose marriage.

Norah Jones at The Sheen Center, NYC. A 300 seat venue, great jazz performance.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?
I did the Meet & Greet with him last Thursday, and I asked him about that very topic. He said the thing about the original band is that when they broke up there was never any bad blood between them. He still is in regular contact, and still write songs with all of them as well.
He said he'd love to do more, including more shows; but that a tour would probably out of the question, mostly due to the sometimes unreliability of Michael Bruce.
All of the surviving member have gotten together for one-off events promoting things like the Alice box set in 2011, and Dennis Dunaway's book release.

Went to see The Rolling Stones tonight. My fifth time seeing them (Steel Wheels '89, Bridges to Babylon '98, A Bigger Bang '05, 50 & Counting '13), but it was my 15 year old daughter's first Stones show. This wasn't actually a tour, just a show added on after their recent Indio appearance. It was supposed to be a two-night engagement but the first show, scheduled for Wednesday, was cancelled due to Mick's laryngitis (Mick said "I went to see David Copperfield on Wednesday and he made me disappear!"). They're slowing down now, but still put on a great show.
They charge SO MUCH for tickets. Fortunately the secondary market is a dumping ground in Vegas. I bought a pair of $450 + $40 LET tickets for $225 each last week. I could have gotten lower level seats (All retail for $750 + LET) for just a little more than that if I had waited until today. Seats weren't great, but were good enough. Sight-lines in T-Mobile Arena are all fantastic. Glad I got to show my daughter what the Stones are all about before they stopped for good (which has to happen soon, doesn't it?)

Went to see Skeletonwitch, Iron Reagan, and Oathbreaker at the Subterranean in Chicago. First time I've been in this club and it's really tiny. Stage is only maybe 3 or 4 feed above the floor without any barrier. It was a sold out crowd (for this venue, maybe 300) and the crowd was rough, especially during Iron Reagan. Oathbreaker was interesting, lead singer singing/shrieking through her hair covering her face.

Ingrid Michaelson at the Moore Theatre. Really good show, and she didn't focus on her new album as much as most shows I've seen.

The Psychedelic Furs at The Observatory in Santa Ana. Great show. I haven't seen them since 1989. They haven't lost a step. It was mainly a greatest hits set, but the band totally delivered. Butler isn't technically a great vocalist, but that nicotine rasp still sounds exactly the same as it did back then.

I didn't know they were closing the Irvine Meadows. I might have been at that 1996 Sting show with you! I went to that Alanis tour, but saw her at the Greek instead.
