German rock band April Art on the 70K cruise. Their singer also not shy posting bikini photos on her instagram account.

One of my favorite sets from the cruise was black metal band Krzysztof Drabikowski's Батюшка. There is backstory to why there are two Batushka bands touring right now (the other one was on last year's cruise), but this one is considered the better one.

I like April Art, although I haven't listened to the most recent album yet.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

The main band that I wanted to see on the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise was German thrash band Sodom. I'd seen Kreator many times over the years, and only recently have seen Destruction a couple times, so it was good to finally see another one of the Big 4 of German Thrash.

One of my favorites, finnish melodic death metal band Omnium Gatherum. I'll be seeing them again in a couple months touring with Insomnium.

I'll be seeing that show in April. I've already seen, and enjoyed, Numan before. Ministry is a bucket list band I've wanted to see for a long time. Gotta get it in before great-grand-Uncle Al finally dies.

Nice. I'd love to see the Cruel World show once.
I saw Ministry last year at an outdoor venue with Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie (I'm not a huge Zombie fan but man the stage show was impressive.) The year before I saw them in a warehouse type place (much more fitting). I took my son to the outdoor show and reminisced that I first saw Ministry when I was about his age.

To be clear, I'm not going to Cruel World. Lineup is awesome, but I can't imagine enjoying that setup, especially in only one day. I'm seeing the Numan/Ministry tour.

Third year in a row for me going to Cruel World. You have your walking shoes on and shuffle between the three stages as best as possible I get the VIP to not have to worry about getting closeish to the stage. Bummer is missing songs by staying to see one band for a full set and then going to the next one or vice versa.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

mndtrip - Yeah, I think I combined two people's posts in my response Sorry for the confusion!
rex - That's one of the big downsides to a fest like that. Granted, it was a much smaller event, but that's one thing I really liked about the GWAR-B-Q fests I went to - the timing of the acts, and the location of the stages, meant it was very easy to hear each band if you wanted to, and was pretty easy to get in the actual audience area for almost every act.
I look at some of the set lists for these big fests and my first reaction is "I'd love to see X and Y and Z..." my second thought it - OMG I'm exhausted just thinking about making it happen. (cue crosspost to "This thread will make you feel OLD" thread.)

That's one of the biggest reasons I love the Bourbon & Beyond festival - its two stages side-by-side, and the acts start 5 minutes apart. No need to ever move! That, and the fact that you can bring in your own chairs and just chill out all day. Perfect for us old folks! 8^)

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Just got back from the Monsters of Rock cruise, featuring mostly 80s hair metal bands. I saw 35 bands and am still going through my photos, but I saw this nice one I took of Extreme.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

I went to see The Glenn Miller Orchestra yesterday. I thought it was pretty awesome, but I wished instead of a concert, it could have been a dance hall with big band/swing music, food, drinks, dancing etc. I got a little verkempt when I realized most of the audience had been children, not adults, during WW2. I've been wanting to see them for a long time (originally had tickets in 2020).

The next concert I'll probably go to will be a local production of Carmina Burana (Carl Orff).

I keep missing them when they come to town, but they seem to play the US a lot (they've played my city at least 3 times the last 2 years) so it's only a matter of time.

I did NOT get tickets for Green Day tomorrow night at House of Blues Anaheim.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

I asked before but I think you missed my question Perry. Do you wear hearing protection on these cruises? Because it has to be tough on the ears.
