Suzanne Vega @ Haw River Ballroom in Saxapahaw, NC (a local 700-cap venue - this was seated so actual capacity was probably a little less.)Her with an acoustic guitar and Gerry Leonard with an electric.
Great performance.

Great performance.
By the time I saw she was coming there it had sold out.

Nice! I'm seeing him in Los Angeles next Friday and can't wait for the show. I'm trying to avoid set list spoilers and have refrained from watching any footage.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Saw Helmet last week, this week is Brian Jonestown Massacre- it seems Anton is drinking+ again and a lot of shows are going in old school BJM fashion. Later in the weekend is Palehound. I do not have tickets but Top Bottoms/Slothrust is Friday and I am undecided, hate the venue they are going to be at.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Saw The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and in true BJM fashion, Anton had "issues" with the sound, other band members and threw a couple of fits; attendees did not like his treatment of venue staff and he went on rant that included a lite-racist comment and blowing a guy up like the Murrah Federal building before leaving the stage for the night with 4 songs left on the setlist.

Not my video, but my son and I are in the front row in it.

10/27: Adele - Halloween Edition - Colosseum at Caesarís Place.

I picked up tickets in a last minute drop thatís been happening regularly for the last few months. The backup plan was Billy Idol at The Cosmopolitan.

The lady is funny and absolutely delightful. It was just fun evening.

I have officially tapped my entertainment budget for a good while.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Monday 10/21: Death Cult at the Ace Hotel Theatre. Amazing show celebrating the very early era of the The Cult from their 83-85 period. Ian was in great form and the band ran through a good selection of material from the Death Cult EP, Dreamtime, and a handful of tracks from Love.

Friday 10/27: Nick Cave at the Orpheum. I've honestly lost count of how many times I've seen Nick over the years (decades, now). This was a stripped down show featuring Nick on piano and Colin Greenwood from Radiohead on bass. A stunning show from start to finish. Not to mention, the Orpheum is one of the nicest venues I've ever seen. If you live in the area and have the chance to see an event/artist there, don't hesitate.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Took my wife and daughter to see boygenuis at the Hollywood Bowl on 10/31. Amazing show and so great to see the band draw that large of an audience for the last show of their tour supporting their recent album. Thanks to my daughter, I'm now a serious fan.

That was the show where Dave Grohl was on drums, right?

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Municipal Waste was the first set on the Headbanger's Boat as we were leaving the port of Miami.

After the end of day 3, overnight someone supposedly got into an argument and when boat security came, he took off running, and then jumped a rail, supposedly to go down to a lower level, but instead ended up in the ocean. This was around 3:30am, lots of announcements came over the PA over the next hour making sure that none of us on the boat got any good sleep (I went to bed around 2am). They closed the pool deck level along with all entertainment on the boat until 1:30pm when they called off the search, causing a bunch of rescheduling and cancellations of shows on the final day.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

2023-11-08: DragonForce, Amaranthe, NanowaR of Steel, and Edge of Paradise. We had a blast at this show. Very high energy all around. I talked with Margarita Monet (Edge of Paradise) for a few minutes after their set, she was super nice. Amaranthe sounded great, but I was a little disappointed with their dark stage and black outfits.

Yeah, not found. Still not clear on the details of what happened, but it could have been an intentional suicide after the argument with his girlfriend. His gofundme was just posted, and apparently he was big in the transformer figure collection community.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

The always fun Japanese trio TsuShiMaMiRe. They're supporting Austin TX act A Giant Dog, but for my money the Tokyo girls steal the show.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

I saw them back in the mid-2000's when there was a local Japan Nite show. They were in the mix with Ellegarden and a few others. TsuShiMaMiRe were easily the highlight. They also opened on one of the Suicide Girls burlesque show tours, so my buddy and I went to that, too. TsuShiMaMiRe, again, were the best part of the show. The burlesque got boring pretty quickly, so we bowed out early.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

November was originally going to be my "take a break" month, but I ended up getting tickets last-minute to see The Hives last night at the Belasco. I was somewhat familiar with them when they first broke, but the new album really caught my attention. For a band that's been around as long as they have, they still crank it up to 11 for their live shows. There wasn't a dull moment in the set. It was easily one of the funnest/loudest gigs I've ever seen.
