Re: What concert did you recently attend?

I saw Beck and Phoenix on Tuesday, their tour is wrapping up. Got the Setlist from Beck’s show, and caught a flower from one of the openers, Weyes Blood.

Good thing you didn't reschedule to the Indianapolis show tonight - that just got cancelled due to illness, rumored to be Covid yet again.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Took wife and kids (9,10)

8/14- Ghost, Amon Amarth. Amon is not our thing, but we played along with the row row row your boat bit. Ghost is great as always, but thinking this may be the last time seeing them. That fanbase is really becoming odd, stupid, very obsessive. 3rd time seeing them within the year, and the people going are getting worse. My kids act more grown up then these fools. Jackoffs 18-early 20s were playing patty cake between sets. Downfall of hitting it big with tik tok

9/5- filter/ministry/alice cooper/rob zombie

filter sucked ass. Lead singer thinks he is super cool. Only thing cool about him is his liquid terminator brother. Was like Mick Foley with all the cheap pops of saying Michigan a million times. Telling everyone to buy merch.

Ministry were the stars of the night. Loud as hell, band is super tight, sounds just like their albums.

Alice was good. Ran through a shit load of songs. No bs talking, just on to the next song. Was nice to finally see Nita up close.

Zombie. Seen white zombie and solo a handful of times, this time was just,eh. Weird how old and new songs sound the same, but the old ones are great, and new ones stink. Still think that ufo song might be the worst song ever.

9/6- Blueys big play. Funny how this crowd is more mature than ghost fanbase.

Thursday we go to Danzig/behemoth/twin temple/midnight. Cant wait.

Pretty much how it was when we saw that show a couple of weeks ago. RZ had his moments, but felt like he is just going through the motions. Ministry really nailed it and now have a new fan as my daughter has started listening to them. Alice was great also and created a real party atmosphere.

Weyes Blood and Thomas Mars returned to the stage to sing Lost Cause along with Beck which was a surprise.

Ah. We had Sir Chloe as well. Didn't like them but really enjoyed the rest. The original song Beck and Phoenix performed was pretty good too.

2023-09-10: Beast in Black and Dance With the Dead at Mr Smalls Theater in Pittsburgh. First time at this venue that previously was a really old church. Sound in the place was very good. Dance with the Dead was better than I expected. Beast in Black was awesome, the crowd was really into them and they sounded great. Had a blast at this one.

Ugh, sounds like a horrible audience, I'm glad I saw Ghost plenty of times before they blew up.

Thursday we go to Danzig/behemoth/twin temple/midnight. Cant wait.
Damn, great lineup, wish this tour was going to play somewhere near me.

Sounds like we were at the same two shows at Pine Knob. Was with my son at both shows, and we brought along his friend for the latter.

I enjoyed Ghost and AA, and I didn't notice the morons in the stands. I was in the very back of the pavilion, and was happy for the cover, because it rained very hard on the lawn for nearly all of AA and the early part of Ghost. What I did notice though was the awful stench of the guy sitting right next to me. Honestly made me want to vomit. I think I'm more sensitive to smells than I was before transition, because I spent a lot of time at wrestling shows in the past with stinky fans, and never felt like this before. I stuck it out for the kid though. He had a great time. I did think that AA's setup with the ship and the Giant frigging dragon was really cool though, one of the most elaborate setups I've ever seen for an opening act.

For the latter show, we were on the lawn. We got there early to get a good spot. I thought Filter was fine for what it was, at least it was a short set, and they closed with Hey Man Nice Shot, which was all I really wanted to hear from them. I can't really stand "Take A Picture". It's as lame as it ever was. The singer also did the lame opening act bit where he keeps repeating the name of the band over and over and constantly yells at us for not standing. Whatever, dude.

Ministry was really loud, and not my cup of tea. I had to go get earplugs for the kids. We were pretty much directly in front of the speakers at the front of the lawn. I sat for most of the performance.

AC put on a good show, but I was not hyped to see him after his recent anti-trans rant. Nita was great and looked gorgeous. Started to get lightning in the distance toward the end of the set, and it actually looked really cool and enhanced the visuals. Started to rain at the very end of his set, and throughout the break between sets, but never hard, and it basically cleared up before Zombie took the stage though, which was good.

I enjoyed Rob's set for what it was, and his stage setup was really cool and impressive, but his voice is basically shot though. I've never seen him live before though, so maybe it always was. His set was significantly shorter than AC's though, which is weird, as a headliner.

The kids really enjoyed the show though, and I had a good time with them, which is all that matters. Tickets were only $25 all-in pricing.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

I've been seeing Rob Zombie live since his first solo album, and his vocals have always been terrible. Watching videos of him during the White Zombie days, and while his voice was fine, he still only sang about half of the lyrics. The music and stage show is great though.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Saw Ben Folds last night. Just him and a piano and it was fantastic.

I highly recommend if you were ever a fan of Ben Folds Five or his early solo stuff. I haven't been a big fan of his last two solo albums. He played several songs off the new one and they played better live. Him explaining the songs makes them more enjoyable as well.

He is just a great entertainer. You can see he enjoys having fan interactions during the concert as well as his sometimes hilarious anecdotes to almost every song he performs.

And he didn't play Brick which was actually refreshing.

I was in Chicago and saw The Cure for the second time this year on Sunday. Great show. Missed Foo Fighters since I got there too late for entry.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

I took my guitar-obsessed son to see Eric Clapton in St. Louis last Tuesday, 9/12. It was a great show with a couple of songs by "The Band" as openers in tribute to Robbie Robinson. He also opened his second electric set with "Tearing Us Apart" in tribute to Tina Turner. We had tickets to see Guns N' Roses there to Saturday prior at Busch Stadium, but that was postponed.

I wasn't there but close friend was at that festival all weekend. Said The Cure was great.

Friday (for me) looked to be the good day... Foo Fighters and Parliament Funkadelic.
