I never understood why the Talking Heads never got back together some time for a reunion tour. Do they have such hard feelings or something? They are leaving a lot of money on the table.

I think yes, there is a lot of bad blood.

It's a shame. I guess you can never tell, but David Byrne seems like a pretty chill guy, not like a total prima Donna asshole lead singer who couldn't let bygones be bygons. And even most of those guys (Mick Jagger, Axl Rose, Sting) can usually patch things up for a reunion tour eventually.

I just don't think there's an interest there. Read 'Remain in Love' by Chris Frantz, (while it's not all that great of a bio) it includes some pretty scathing insights into what it was like to work with Byrne, and how the group ended.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Talking heads were a juggernaut of the time. I can imagine that Byrne was a tyrant of sorts. A genius, but demanding in perfection.

Franz and Weymouth were probably right to learn and leave. Such a Devine musical connectionů

The Cure @ Chula Vista - 5/21
The Cure @ Hollywood Bowl 5/25

The Cure always puts on fantastic, near 3 hr show live. The new songs are depressing, but nonetheless great.

Wow, you lucky dog. I would have so liked to have seen them once.
Hopefully they tour more (or take up a residency in Las Vegas!).

Just got back from seeing my favorite vegan environmentalist metal band Cattle Decapitation (opening for Dark Funeral).

I saw Cattle Decapitation several years ago. There was an opening band, Cattleist, who's first album had quite a few lyrics about grilling steaks and burgers and whatnot. I found it amusing seeing them on the same bill.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Collective Soul played a free show in Kannapolis, NC last night. The show was shortened due to rain and lightning, but they did get to play almost an hour and finished with REM's The One I Love.

Sepultura last night at the Vic Theater in Chicago. That venue isn't set up for moshing, but that didn't stop the crowd. Definitely got beat up and kicked and elbowed, and unexpected crowd surfers tweaking my neck in the wrong direction. But I survived.

Really good. Great selection of songs, Simon still sounds good and they kept the energy going.

Kreator at the Vic Theater. They've been my favorite metal band the past 20+ years.

Debbie Gibson.

Small but enthusiastic crowd. She looks and sounds great. My wife adored her when she was a teen, so this show was for her.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

We really enjoyed our 2.75-hour set from The Cure. They basically took two 2-minute water breaks between the first set and the two encores, but played essentially nonstop the whole night. The energy it takes to do that is amazing.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Elvis Costello, at the Pearl Theater at the Palms Casino.

Pretty good show. His voice was a little ragged, and he was in a real pissy mode, making snide comments at the overly sedate (and largely elderly) audience. You can tell when a performer isn't that into his act, and this seemed like it.
I don't regret going, but it was up against the Golden Knights Championship parade, and that looked epic, so it was a bummer to not be able to do both.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Tarja Turunen, original Nightwish vocalist on their first 5 albums, amazing operatic vocal range. A real pioneer as the first symphonic metal singer back in the mid 90s.
