Saw Devil Wears Prada, Stray from the Path, and Dying Wish at the House of Blues Chicago. Devil Wears Prada is playing both Zombie EPs in their entirety which I really like. First time seeing Dying Wish, the singer is cute, but her death vocal is a little monotone, cleans are okay, but potential is there with their first album.

Great and fun show with the B-52s last night. Career spanning and nostalgic with videos throughout the years running in the background.

At The Gates and Municipal Waste at Concord Music in Chicago. Crowd was very active, so I'm a little sore today.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Saw Municipal Waste years ago on a Gwar tour. I'm not a big thrash fan, but they were a lot of fun, and the crowd loved it.

I caught At the Gates on what I called the AAA tour; Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, At the Gates. It was my first time catching them, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Arch Enemy sounded good, but didn't do much for me. Amon Amarth is always a blast.

The Killers at. T-Mobile Arena. A year after I thought I was going to see them.
Would have been somewhere between our sixth and eighth time seeing them. My wife's favorite band, and local to Las Vegas so they come here a lot. Always put on a great show. The Arena was packed and it was a fantastic time. Nice visit to an alternative timeline where mainstream rock stars under forty (okay or just a little older than forty) still sell out arenas.

Saw Deicide with Kataklysm opening on Friday night at the Bottom Lounge. Had my usual spot front and center, but boy that can be rough for some of these active death metal shows. My body is still achy even this morning. Took this photo with my phone.

Echo and the Bunnymen last night in Seattle. Glad it happened based on some previous shows and state of the lead singer. Great show with the hits and some others mixed in.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Scorpions at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont IL. Opener was supposed to be Whitesnake who dropped out due to health issues. Will go though my digital camera photos in the next week sometime, but here's a after show shot from my phone.

Rudolph Schenker turned 74 the day before, so Klaus (also 74) led the audience in a happy birthday rendition. Hard to believe they are plugging away at their age. They recently released a new album which is pretty good and played 4 songs from it at the show.

Nice. Those bastards canceled their first Vegas show in 16 years in June. I was so bummed, even though the seats I had purchased were pretty shitty for the show.
How were they?

The one & only Diana Ross at the spectacularly huge MN State Fair on 9/3/22. She was stellar and so good. She did "Love Child" and knocked it out of the park. Also, 2 of her new songs were quite good!

Really good, you won't be disappointed unless you want to hear their 70s RCA material which is absent on this tour. Klaus sounds great.

Glad to hear that. She's playing in Boston this week and was thinking about getting a last-minute ticket. One of the few greats I haven't seen yet.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Nine Inch Nails
9/2
Red Rocks

Great show, as per usual. Stage setup was really minimal and closed in, only using maybe 1/3 of the stage. Lightning was abundant, but the weather held out. The rest of the city got a pretty massive rainstorm, which necessitated an evacuation of the Phish show also playing that night. Gave those dirty hippies their first shower in a while, I'm sure. Setlist was pretty much just the highlights, with a couple of deeper cuts.

I was really worried about that lightning. Thankfully it moved on south away from us.

Definitely cutting deep into their catalog. I'd seen 13 shows, and I still got 6 new songs each night that I had not seen before.

You just made me feel better! I lost out on 17th row VIP tickets due to a TM glitch, and wanted that to be my first Red Rocks show. BUT I went to the Taylor Hawkins Tribute in London (made a weeklong trip out of it) and wouldn’t have gone, if I had NIN tickets. As amazing NIN at Red Rocks would have been, I would have rather gone to Wembley.

One of the photos I took with my digital camera. Reminder that this guy is 74 years old.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Diana Ross tonight in Boston.

Have to say, I really had in my mind that she would be quite the diva. But in fact she seemed quite charming and humble. At one piont she sat at the edge of the stage and chatted with audience members, took requests, and threw in several obviously unrehearsed songs. (She didn't even seem to be bothered by some obvious problems with her in-ear monitors.)

And wow, what a catalog of songs!

One Republic and Needtobreathe. Both great performances.
