Re: What concert did you recently attend?

So do the folks overseas know something we don't or is the US completely fucked?

I'm seeing numerous festivals and shows scheduled for the Fall and into 2021 over there.

They’re beating the virus while the US is acting like fucking idiots debating masks. We’d be done with this shit too if our general population could pull it’s head out of it’s ass.

there are lots of shows rescheduled from this year to 2020 in the US, still no guarantee they will happen, but its a way for acts to keep tickets sold for 2020 dates without having to refund them.

I definitely understand. When this all started, I didn't think we'd be in a worse spot now.

The only shows I still have tickets for are for Rage Against The Machine's re-scheduled shows in June of 2021 as well as Psycho Las Vegas Festival in August of 2021.

Still waiting to see if they cancel or postone the Hall & Oates/Squeeze/KT Tunstall shows next month. We have lawn tickets for a group of four of us on the lawn at Merriweather Post show in Columbia, MD. If the show goes on, we'll simply forefeit the money spent on the tickets as none of us really want to go into that environment at this time. The lawn is a heavy drinking area and that will only equal a lot of people stumbling into us while not wearing masks. No thanks.

I'm surprised yours hasn't been postponed. My wife was seeing them in Denver, and it's been postponed indefinitely.

Many Hall & Oates dates have now been rescheduled for 2021.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

I realized recently that I still have my tickets for the Swans & Anna von Hausswolff tour.

The tour was postponed & rescheduled pretty early on in pandemic in the States (moved to February 2021).

The way our country has been handling COVID-19, I definitely don't believe that 7-months, these bands will be able to play a 1,300-capacity venue safely.

Japan was capped at 1,000 capacity events and now that has been lifted to allow up to 5,000 for sanctioned events.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Anybody attended a virtual or live stream event? A lot of artists seem to be going those route recently.

Im trying to figure out how you access the stream and can play through your tv/stereo. Only references I’ve found are to web browsers.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

I have watched a few. Most of them have been free, but I paid for a couple. Kinda depends on where they are streaming from. Facebook has an app on some platforms (AppleTV is one) for those that stream from there. YouTube live streams are similar.

For others, I stream from my laptop to a TV (streaming from laptop to Roku mostly for me). Chromecast would be another alternative. Downside is those require control from the laptop.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

For something that requires a web browser, I've used my Xbox with its web browser to stream to my tv. For one that was streamed through a phone app, I had to screen mirror my phone through my roku to get it up on my tv.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

We purchased Future Islands stream (couple weeks ago) and Glass Animals (last week) and both were well worth it.

I think I am doing Pearl Jam's this weekend.

Edited to add: I just plug in laptop into TV and watch. Easy and no issues.

Done a couple via Facebook streaming. No charge but they had virtual tip jars and sent money via Paypal.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

I've only seen two: Dropkick Murphys and a free twitch stream for the Cold Waves festival. They were alright. They both lost something with not having a crowd, but it was better than no "live" music.

I either Cast from my Laptop to the TV in my Living Room, or just plug my Laptop directly into the TV.

I've attended quite a few Live Streams. For what they are, they've been a whole lot of fun. It's great to see bands do special sets that normally might be limited to a certain region touring-wise.

So far I've attended:

Tsunami Bomb - Acoustic Set
Xibalba - 'Anos en Infierno' Stream & Live Set
Down- 'Quarter Century Throwdown' (Playing their 2005 Debut LP 'NOLA' in its entirety)
Mutants of the Monster Festival (Day 1)
Mutants of the Monster Festival (Day 2)
Baroness - Gold & Grey Live (Playing their 2019 LP 'Gold & Grey' in its entirety)
Darkest Hour - 25th Anniversary Set
Obituary - Slowly We Rot Set (Playing their 1989 LP 'Slowly We Rot' in its entirety)
Obituary - Cause of Death Set (Playing their 1990 LP 'Cause of Death' in its entirety)
New Found Glory - Self Titled 20 Year Anniversary (Playing their 2000 Self-Titled LP in its entirety)

If you like Ska/Punk, The Suicide Machines (MI) uploaded their Live Set benefiting Small's Bar in Hamtramck, MI.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Well, I had seen two "live music" shows (one, a seated venue, no standing, socially distanced and another, a cover band) but last night was a real "concert"

X

Los Lobos

The Blasters

Glad to be the one to re-up this thread! It was buried!

Saw Orville Peck in Chicago last week @ Thalia Hall - the night before his Lolla appearance.
