I posted this on Steve Hoffman forum and got called an "old white guy", was accused of a thinly veiled attack aginst one of the most successful artists of our time and was asked if I would have posted this if Van Morrison wrote it. I guess dumbass lyrics are cool with the politically correct crowd over there as long as they're from an "urban" artist.

Probably. He co-wrote it with Beyonce while the mother of their child was giving birth (if you are to believe the rumors that Beyonce was never pregnant and their child was born through a surrogate).

Jay-Z has never been known as a master words man, has he? He's been known to bite other rappers lyrics for years. He's had a lot of ghostwriters, too.

This song was awful, but it just showcases his true songwriting abilities.

Am I the only person who thinks jay-z is a terrible rapper? I like rap, but he leaves me cold. Calculated commercial beats and no real flow. I think I'm gong to get really sick hearing about this kid, too. So his dick works, big deal.

Jay isn't a terrible rapper but I have never thought of him as someone who stood out from the rest. I like his music and think he is very talented but his style doesn't distinguish himself from other great rappers IMO.
