Actually, more recently we purchased about 25 or so of those Time-Life hits by-the-years collections at a pawn shop for around $1.50 each...all sealed. Besides the usual pop/rock hits, there were a bunch of country best-of's and a couple of country gospel. To get around 20 or more songs (some were double-CDs) all by original artists for that price was nice. Even if we already have some of them, they make great stocking-stuffers.


I did order a gold disc copy of the first CSN from B&N but just got another backorder notice. I'm about to give up on getting it from them.

I picked up Reign Of Terror by Sleigh Bells the other day, but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. And I pre-ordered New Multitudes (Deluxe Edition) by Jay Farrar, Will Johnson, Anders Parker & Yim Yames and WZRD by WZRD from Amazon; should be receiving them either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Are there still stores who's main focus is selling new music CDs? I'm not talking about online stores or used record stores. I know places like Best Buy sell CDs but I never actually see people browsing those isles....

Newbury Comics still has a really good selection of new cds. Granted it's surely not the focus of the store, but I'm sure they do alright for them.
