The Beastie Boys
The Red Hot Chili Peppers - Some folks here hate them, but I feel they've put out 30 years of quality material and are hall-worthy
The Cure - Love that band, and I really hate almost all of their contemporaries. Their best stuff is so beautiful and it holds up so well.

I agree with this, but I'll add that I think the Hall of Fame is past the point of no return. It's a joke, anyway. Finally adding Rush now would only give it that extra bit of validity that it most definitely doesn't deserve.

Here's one that I know has no support, involves a long-dead inductee, and would really make no overall impact, but still seems like an glaring omission : Frank Sinatra. The R&R HoF has gone out of their way to embrace their Country, R&B and Soul roots but have purposely avoided acknowledging their Pop influences. On some level I get that -- Rock and Roll was in some sense a rebellion of the baby boomers to their parent's staid musical tastes. But I sincerely believe that if there was no Sinatra, there would be no Elvis. Frank was maybe the first bigger-than-life singing superstar and had a huge influence on popular music from that point forward. If they were quick to induct Ray Charles, Etta James, Johnny Cash, Miles Davis and The Staples Singers, Old Blue Eyes should be there as well.

Where the hell is Link Wray, Johnny Burnette, Dick Dale, and a lot of the other early rockers? It seems pretty ridiculous to even use the term "rock n roll" anymore.

It's not really the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" it's more the "Whatever Popular Music the Rolling Stone Editorial Staff Fellates Hall of Fame."

Pretty much all the groups I think should be in there are. But The New York Dolls, The MC5, Mitch Ryder, The Dead Boys, Television, Richard Hell and the Void Oids, Slade, The Dead Kennedys, The Residents and the Gang of Four among others should be in there instead of alot of the acts that are. But the one I can't believe is not there is Ten Years After. They were a great band especially live. And Lee was a great guitar player.

You don't have to play for 25 years; your first album has to be at least 25 years old.
Edit: 4 minutes late to the party.
