Think I'll pick and choose the ones I want to download. No way in the world I'm paying for Kesha or Miley Cyrus crap.

I think Flogging Molly is just a *tad* bit more respectable than Miley and Ke$ha.

Interesting group of artists. I, too, will have to pick and choose.

I can't wait to hear Dylan's take on "Chimes of Freedom".

^Dylan's own version from Another Side... is nice, but the ultimate version is the one by The Byrds.

I have zero clue who they are but I could never get into a band with such an awful name.

A Statement from Kesha:

"OK like Check this out, there's this dude, Dylan. And he like totally used to write songs that said our government was bad. And he's really old and he sings like he just drank Drano. So like they asked me to sing one of his songs and I was like totally stoked dude. And this song is called Don't Think Twice It's Alright, dude. I think it's about like not thinking twice. And it'll be like totally Alright. Bitchin' huh?"

Her statement is obviously tongue-in-cheek and for her fans that might not know who Bob Dylan is. Ke$ha herself is absolutely familiar with with Bob Dylan and his music; people give her a lot of crap, but she's just playing a part. And she's good at what she does: writing well-constructed, catchy pop songs.

How about DMB's version of Watchtower. I'm sure this recording will cover all sorts of new musical territory not explored in their 15 previously recorded versions of that song.

Ah, gotcha. I'm drawing a blank right now, but I'm sure are other bands I feel that way about.

Flogging Molly put on a hell of a live show. Very fun and energetic.

i think it must be the holidays and the copious amounts of booze and a full belly, but i am curious what the Ke dollar sign ha take will sound like. I find her goofy music secretly intoxicating and would secretly or publicly love it if she actually nails a good serious attempt at a song here.

I am also surprised there is no GaGa on this.

Looking very forward to the gaslight anthem, steve earle, knopfler and kris Kristofferson songs.

A crappy name can always be overcome if a band is awesome but I don't think these guys are gonna do it for me.

Thanks for the vid though. Always willing to try.

Adele performing "Make You Feel My Love" has been around for awhile. Pretty well done.

I'd much rather hear Miley Cyrus do "You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go" than endure Sting's inevitably pretentious interpretation of "Girl From the North Country."

Performed on a lute, I'm sure.

I don't know. I'm more than happy with the 2-disc I'm Not There soundtrack if you want a good Dylan tribute.

What an obnoxious voice. Was she drunk when she recorded this?

i think with the haunting sound effects in the background and her pained delivery this could be played to signify a particularly poignant or dramatic moment during Grey's Anatomy.

Meredith...your baby will have three heads.

^ ^ ^

Painful to listen to. Sounds like she's badly in need of a laxative.

Tribute albums are always hit or miss. Usually a few original spins, a few horrible butcherings, and a lot of adequate covers that don't vary the original...just adds a new voice.

In Dylan's case, some people seem to prefer the covers due to their aversion to his voice. At any rate, it's a sure bet that most won't sound exactly like his vocal stylings.

Kind of intrigued by this due to the large amount of tracks for around $20 (I believe I saw it on Amazon or BN at that pre-order price). Don't know whether to wait & pick up a used copy later & read the reviews when it comes out or just buy the thing now knowing the inevitable downside.
