Mazzy Star are back
Mazzy Star to release new music for the first time in 15 years by Steven Hyden October 18, 2011 Sultry '90s indie-rock duo Mazzy Star is best-known for "Fade Into You" and lots of similarly sad, slow, and sexy songs. The group hasn't put out an album since 1996's Among My Swan, but Mazzy Star appears to be back in the swing of being a working musical outfit again. A new single called "Common Burn" (backed with the B-side "Lay Myself Down") will be released digitally Oct. 31, with a vinyl release to follow. It's no clear whether this release is teasing a new album or is a stand-alone release, but you can preview "Common Burn" here. "Halah" is still one of my favorite '90s songs (and I really dug Hope's song with the Jesus and Mary Chain). |

Not gonna start freaking out about that 30-second sample, but it definitely sounded pretty good. This is great news.

Great news.
I always thought it was "Warm Intentions" for some reason, until I read your post. I assume this means Dave and Hope will be doing music together, not that the last incarnation of supporting musicians will also be returning. |
