God, Rick Rubin is involved. Does that mean Greg Fidleman is going to be mixing and mastering the album? If so I am not going to even bother with the album. I am already partially deaf from his work on Death Magnetic, World Painted Blood and that new RHCP album. Why can't he not ruin an album with clipping?

Fuck, I hope it's not Fidelman doing the mixing. How that guy can work with so much top talent and suck such a huge cock is a mystery to me.

I would be more excited about Rick Rubin producing the album if "Death Magnetic" wasn't such an anemic mess.
That, and the clipping.
That, and the clipping.

With the news that Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with the early stages of lymphoma, his bandmates would like everyone to send positive vibes to the guitarist at this time. Iommi is currently working with his doctors to establish the best treatment plan--the “IRON MAN” of Rock & Roll remains upbeat and determined to make a full and successful recovery.
This comes as Black Sabbath--Ozzy Osbourne (vocals), Tony Iommi(guitar),Geezer Butler (bass) and Bill Ward (drums)—are writing and recording their first album in 33 years in Los Angeles (still set for release this fall) with producer Rick Rubin. They will now go to the UK to continue to work with Tony. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
Damn

What shit timing, not that any time is a good time.
He needs to write an ungodly heavy special riff to blast that shit out of his system.

First Ronnie, now Tony.
I hope they caught it early.
The album is still a go, but the tour could be in jeopardy. If Tony needs chemo or radiation then he certainly can't be on the road. If he does beat this thing and makes a full recovery then the tour could still go on. Hopefully that's what happens. They may just need to schedule the tour in spurts to give him time to go back and get checked every few weeks.

Re: Black sabbath: reunited original band line up for new album.
BLACK SABBATH bassist Geezer Butler has issued an update on the recording sessions for original SABBATH lineup's first album together in 33 years.
SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi was diagnosed with the early stages of lymphoma, it was revealed earlier this month. Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphocytes, a type of cell that forms part of the immune system. According to a statement issued by his publicist, the 63-year-old metal legend is currently working with his doctors to establish the best treatment plan and remains upbeat and determined to make a full and successful recovery.
In a brand new post on his official web site, Butler writes, "Today [January 19th] we got the engines back up and running at Tony's home studio. Far from being down and depressed about his lymphoma diagnosis, Tony had already written the music for two new songs, and I must say it has given us all a kick up the rump — it's great to hear him churning out those riffs again, assuaging the Demon C. Takes more than that to stop Tony. Can't wait for you all to hear our workings; it has been great working on this stuff.
He adds, "I want to thank the lovely encouraging emails sent to this site giving Tony love and encouragement and great vibes. It really does help, not only Tony, but us as a band — it raises up our spirits and restores our faith in this tarnished world.
"SABB fans are good people. Time and again, you have proven your faith in us and boosted our endeavour.
"Thanks, love, peace."

If he was given a contract to sign that he deems unfair, why should he sign it? I bet it has to do with royalties. Sharon probably wants to stick him and Geezer with %10, Tony with 30%, and Ozzy gets half. That Sharon Osbourne is a crafty woman.

Sharon Osbourne? Never heard of her.
But I have heard of a $haron O$bourne.
Imagine if she and Gene hooked up. Her name would have been $haron $immon$.
Yeah, I read about this on Blabbermouth as well. I support Bill Ward's decision but hope everything goes smoothly eventually.

From the Black Sabbath FB Page:
We were saddened to hear yesterday via Facebook that Bill declined publicly to participate in our current Black Sabbath plans...we have no choice but to continue recording without him although our door is always open... We are still in the UK with Tony. Writing and recording the new album and on a roll... See you at Download!!!

They should use sharon as the drum kit. Tommy and Bill were the first members right? He should at least get the same as Geezer. I mean they are talking percentages here so sharon really needs that much of a bigger share?
