Well now I don't feel so bad about missing it. A little over three weeks and album will be mine, this I will not forget.

I'm a little out of the loop here. Is Bill Ward part of this new album/tour? All the pictures I've come across just show Ozzy/Tony/Geezer.

Yes, you're a bit out of the loop.

Short story, Bill Ward walked away from the reunion because he didn't think they were offering him enough money.

The whole album is streaming now on itunes. Go to the artist page to find it.

It's not leaving much of an impression on me, frankly.

Damaged Soul is worth the price of admission alone. I skipped through here and there thinking it all sounded sort of the same until I got to that song. Love everything about it.

My super deluxe version came today. I guess it's sold out already and prices are kinda high on eBay. I have a feeling I'm gonna regret either decision I make.

I opened it up. The photos are pretty high quality and the art print is cool. I didn't listen to any album leaks beforehand and I'm really digging it.

Love the slow, slogging Sabbath.

Re: Black sabbath: reunited original band line up for new album.

God Is Dead? grew on me. I'm not blown away by it, but I really like it.

I have the CD in my thingy, won't be able to listen to it until later. But I too love slow, sloggy, doomy, MOR Sabbath. So much, I have a small poop in my Swiss hiking shorts

I'm spinning the vinyl as I type this and think it's pretty stellar so far. I'm only on song 3. Very dark, slow, and progressive. Evocative, too.

Love the album. I enjoy the bonus tracks also. I was dreading the sound since Rubin produced but while still sounding shitty it isn't as bad as Metallica's Death Magnetic or the last 3 Slayer albums.

Re: Black sabbath: reunited original band line up for new album.

Listened through it all this afternoon. "Loner" is my favorite track, with the opening track being my second favorite as of now.

I'll probably give it another listen before bed tonight.

The favorites for me are live forever, dear father, methademic and na´vetÚ in black. The best thing about 13 is there could be different favorites by the end of the week.

I forgot about the bonus tracks, which are not on the vinyl. I'll have to get them.

It's already a double vinyl. 2 songs on each side.

Re: Black sabbath: reunited original band line up for new album.

I picked up the BB Deluxe Edition yesterday. About halfway through and I am really liking it so far. Bill Ward is certainly missed, but I have to say that Brad Wilk does a good job filling in on drum duties.

Re: Black sabbath: reunited original band line up for new album.

Acquired the bonus tracks and I think "Pariah" compliments "Loner" quite well. "End of the Beginning" is my 2nd favorite track still.

In fact, 13 is a close cousin of "Paranoid," I would say.

Re: Black sabbath: reunited original band line up for new album.

I got the record in the mail today and sat down and listened to it with no distractions. This is really good. Ozzy sounds good, better than on his last few solo efforts. There are some cool riffs, it has a very Sabbath-y vibe to it. As much as the Bill Ward situation sucks, the drumming is good and along with Geezer they lay down a really solid foundation.

I am not a massive Sabbath fan, I have all their records (I think, might be missing 1 or 2 80s/90s efforts) and like them, but they are probably not a top 10 band for me. That said, I think this album is at least in the top half of their catalog .. possibly top third.

It is much better than I was expecting when it was announced given Ozzy's solo albums have been getting worse and worse and Heaven and Hell was okay, but nothing great.

Re: Black sabbath: reunited original band line up for new album.

I think I would put it at number seven maybe number six (Sabbath Bloody Sabbath)
That being said I think it's pretty great, I just hold those other albums in high regard.
I don't really care for the bonus tracks all that much. I'm really glad they were left off the album.
