Being a country fan, mine is George Strait, I've got over 35 CDs, all ripped on my hard drive.

For me it'd be Elton John just for the sheer amount of material he's released. I'll have to do an official count when I get home out of curiosity, but his stuff takes up the most room on the shelves!
Okay- just going by CDs (and not cassettes and vinyl),about 115 total- out of what looks like 33 are original (non-live, greatest hits, boots, singles, etc.) albums. No one else even comes close.

Depeche Mode by a mile. I have no idea how many individual tracks, but it is currently at 156 cds and around 130 12" vinyl.

Dream Theater
currently in iTunes:
50 Albums; 538 Tracks
That's 98% official releases and doesn't include another 100 or so bootleg concerts. Does not include any solo or side projects either.

If bootlegs count, then The Cure and R.E.M. by a very wide margin. They were my favorite bands when I was really into collecting bootlegs and I have over 30 disks of just live or unreleased stuff for each band.

I would imagine either Miles Davis or Bob Dylan. At this point it's probably Miles.
I own every Beatles album on vinyl, US & UK versions, but that's a drop in the bucket compared to how much I own from artists whose careers lasted 40+ years.

I am by no means a hardcore music collector with lots of bootlegs and rare pressings, but as far as having the most tracks, between The Clash and his solo stuff, probably Joe Strummer. After that, maybe Echo and the Bunnyment/Ian McCulloch, The Police, Stan Ridgway/Wall of Voodoo, Simple Minds....

By official releases, are you referring to the Ytsejam stuff? I've been curious about those, but never pulled the trigger on them. Are they worth the money?

I don't have time to count the albums, singles, boots, tapes, live and studio tracks...etc. I'm pretty sure, however, that it would be something along the lines of Alice Cooper, Cheap Trick and Thin Lizzy. After that, probably KISS, AC/DC, INXS, The Cult and Def Leppard.

I thought sure it would be Black Sabbath/Ozzy/Dio at 829
But actually The Ramones won out at 1124. That's alot of greatest hits, anthologies and tribute albums!

Elvis Costello tops it out at 1,561 tracks.
I think R.E.M. would be next--still rearranging folders and whatnot, but I think I have about 850+ tracks of theirs.
EDIT: Brian Eno comes in third with 697 tracks.
