Finally!...Beastie Boys, Hot Sauce Committee Part 2, May 3rd 2011

I am way excited to hear their newest album, i've already pre-ordered my copy... LINK:D:D:D
I know about MCA's cancer and stuff but I am still not sure why they are releasing PT.2 first, anyone know?

Just as a goof. It's all the songs that were announced for Vol.1.

They're making fun of the fact that volume one was delayed for so long that volume two will precede it. Nonetheless, with a few minor tweaks, this release is made up of the previously announced songs for volume one.

Can't believe it's been 7 years since 5 Boroughs, which is probably my least fave Beasties album. Hope they get back to that Hello Nasty/Ill Communication kind of feeling.

Agreed, To the 5 Boroughs was quite boring, but I really loved Hello Nasty.

Between the bad reviews and the copy protection on the CD, I completely avoided Boroughs. Let's hope this one's worth getting.

Yeah, it had a few great old-school hits, but mostly mediocre filler. It seems the more the guys get involved in world issues and causes the worse their music gets.

I know that I am in the minority but I love 'To the 5 Boroughs', to me its the most mature sounding of their albums and I am old enough that I had 'License to Ill' on cassette tape when I was in high school. I am really looking forward to their new album. I am gonna try my best and not listen to anything from it so I can hear the entire album for the first time in its entirety on release day.

What the hell?

Also, here is a fun but depressing fact: Every member of the Beastie Boys is older than Will Ferrell.

I'm really looking forward to this.

It'll probably leak within a week or two.

"Make Some Noise" is a pretty good first single.

Fun but depressing? The Beastie Boy's and Will Ferrell for that matter are all still kids, of course I feel that I am still a kid at 40 years of age.:p

Mike D (the founder btw) is 45
MCA is 46
Ad Rock is 44
Oh and Will Ferrell is 43

When I was 16 I had License to Ill on cassette tape. :p
My goal is to see the Beastie Boys live before us old folks die. :p

I am very much looking forward to their new album which I will have on the release day thanks to Amazon Prime. I hope its got a lot of good bass on it. :)

Not many hip hop/rap bands (like none) have been together as long as the Beastie Boys have been together. They first got together as a punk band in 1979. They have sold nearly 40 million albums since they got their start.

Amen, I'm 40. Saw the Beastie Boys in 1994 @ Lollapalooza and 1998 on the Hello Nasty tour.

You know, Fromundacheese, if it was up to Ad Rock, he'd turn up the bass.

They have been friends and been making music since '79 but their first commercial release was '86

There are still a number of rap groups that have been around for a long time and quite a few who haven't done anything new in a while but still tour (i.e. Sugarhill Gang):

Cypress Hill
Wu-Tang Clan
Bone Thugs
EPMD
Naughty by Nature
Geto Boys

I mean, his hair is turning grey

Of course I was joking, I just didn't know who was playing the Beastie Boys. I should have also mentioned how Mike D and MCA were gettin' a little chubby. :p

I love the long version and the shorter music video version is perfect. Great job Beastie Boys and thanks!

I hope the long version makes it to blu-ray disc!

I wonder if there's any chance The Criterion Collection will put out The Beastie Boys: Video Anthology on Blu-ray or if it would even be worth putting out.

Amazing amount of great people in the extended version of revisited, but overall, it really really didn't work for me - extremely boring and pretentious. I'll pretend the short version is the only one.

Throwing Copper 04-25-11 02:23 PM

I'm kind of surprised this album hasn't leaked yet. It comes out in 1 week.

I'm getting excited for this one, I can't believe it's been 7 years since the last Beasties album.

edit: It did just leak today, but it is the "clean" version.
