I picked this up at Amoeba over the weekend. Cover made it look like something I'd like, plus a sticker on the front said "For Fans of Type O Negative, Agalloch and Nachtmystium". Sold right there. It's good, but the lyrics are a little weak. I think they sound an awful lot like Novembers Doom.

After not having purchased a physical CD for probably 3 years, I bought the new Foo Fighters and Panda Bear CDs the day they were released. I was travelling, wanted to hear them immediately, and I couldn't download them from iTunes on my iPhone because I had just told my old employer that I was leaving and taking a new job. The company was going to brick my phone the next day, so I would've lost them if I'd downloaded to my iPhone. So, I bought the CDs.

Which is exactly why I opted to get it, myself. I've been searching for "Gonna Get It Next Time" for years. Up until now, it was only released on 45 (B-side to "Sports Fans", which is also included on this disc), and I have never been able to track down a copy. The mastering job on this one, by Vic Anesini, is pretty good, too. Not brickwalled at all.

I picked that up when it came out, but haven't gotten around to listening to it yet. I probably have one of the largest Diplomats Collections (almost every album and mixtape), but I don't listen to them as much anymore. At this point, just buy their stuff out of habit and to keep my collection up-to-date, lol.

I did like Gunz N' Butta though. Vado's got some skills.

I heard "Everybody Jones" for the first time yesterday. I liked it, so when I saw the cd today, I figured I'd pick it up. I don't have a ton of Diplomats stuff, but I do enjoy what I've got.

Dude, this is amazing! I love this type of synth work, very rhythmic. Will be looking for this.

As a side note, there's a Canadian who does a more mellow style of arpeggiation of the same variety that you might like here http://www.soundclick.com/andrevezina Check out Total Alpha(Came out before Tron Legacy, lol) and Alpha 50.
