Because you were probably born in the same year they were putting out their best stuff.

Re: Killing Joke---new album

Just got the new album last week and spring for the 2CD version. The bonus disc features covers of KJ songs by other artists. I've only listened to disc 1 so far, but I'll be checking out the other one this coming week. Absolutely love it so far.

Re: Killing Joke---new album

Saw them last night in Boston. Very good performance by the band, and a nice sound mix. Mostly stuff from the first 3 albums, and the new one. They played Eighties, but that was one of the only ones from my favorite era, 83-87, so I was a bit disappointed in the set list. Kind of a funny stage presence, with Jaz's frightening intensity, Geordie's cool, stoic vibe---and then Youth on bass, who was pretty much bouncing and smiling the whole show; he had the stage demeanor as if he was playing for the Grateful Dead.

Same thing in NYC.
From 83-87 they also played Love Like Blood and dedicated it to Paul Raven.

Oh, I would have liked to have heard Love Like Blood---I don't think they played that the other time I saw them, either.

Re: Killing Joke---new album

I'd say the Boston show was about 90% the same. We only got Pandemonium in the encore--kind of surprised they only did one song, as there was a decent sized crowd that was quite into the show. I don't think we got European Super State either, but I'm not sure what was played instead. I'm pretty familiar with about 2/3 of their back catalog, but they seemed play quite a bit from the 1/3 I didn't know that well.

Re: Killing Joke---new album

Going to see them Friday and Saturday in Chicago. Be interesting to see what setlist differences there are.
