Silly video? That was cool. I noticed a couple "homages" to early '80s videos from Ultravox and John Foxx. Cool song, too, though the verse reminded me of an old song that I can't quite place.

Classic Cars, right down to the hand claps. This song shows just how deep their influence goes. I could imagine Trent Reznor doing a cover of this. Reminded me a bit of "Bite the Hand that Feeds" in style and tempo.

Another good song. It's such a relief to know good, no-nonsense music like this is still being made today, with all the processed teen trash that passes for music these days.

I was around when they first came out and hooked since. Another one of those groups who disbanded before their prime and more to come. Was really sadden by the death of Orr almost 10 years ago (hard to believe it's been that long). I still have his 'The Lace" CD and it 's actually pretty good. Not having him and his voice is and will be missed.
However the "Sad Song" is a blast from the past. I'm impressed and they haven't missed a beat. Now please tour!!!!!

Did a google of the band and the new album and came across the Rolling Stone article from Febuary. Pretty good and sounds like they miss Orr not being there. Not much but a good read...

A great album, I agree K&AJones; when you listen to The Lace, you can tell that it was Orr who really liked the synthesizer pad stuff; songs like "Since You're Gone" or "Stay The Night" are very "Drive" like.

Yea...The Lace had allot of good songs on it and "Stay the Night" was the only one that really got playing time though "Too Hot To Stop" got some play time.
"Stay The Niight" - The Lace

What the heck...lets add "Too Hot To Stop" for Orr's memories and times. It'll be like the Cars on three OEM tires and the forth a spare doughnut. Here's to ya Orr...thanks and wish you were here.

I came across this that Cars fans might appreciate. It's a six part video of the very last interview done at the same time of all the original members in June 2000. Orr dies in October of that year. In the video he looks frail and almost the size of Greg Hawkes. Part one is almost 9 minutes.

you can tell something is going on by Orr saying "I'm going to get you" at 0:44

Geez. Ocasek is 63. Still, stuff sounds good.
I remember my older sister having the The Cars debut on one side of a cassette and Candy-O on the other and just driving around with that tape on auto-reverse for an entire week of vacation. Good times.
BTW, thank god for YouTube.

"The world is full of quackers and belly button rings."
Man, I didn't realize how much I missed the Cars until I heard that line.
I just found this thread today, and so far I love both tracks. As in repeated them both about five or six times each already just this morning. Really looking forward to the full album release in May.
