What's on your "chill" playlist?

I am looking to add some new tunes, and maybe someone can enjoy some of mine. I'll go ten at a time.

Fleet Foxes - Mykonos
Joshua Radin - Closer
Neil Young - Natural Beauty
Eva Cassidy - Fields of Gold
Foy Vance - Homebird
Beck - Ramshackle
My Morning Jacket - Golden
Cowboy Junkies - Sweet Jane
Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats
Donny Hathaway - A Song For You

Re: What's on your "chill" playlist?

Almost anything from this album which turned me on to Massive Attack (Protection) and Morcheeba.

Michael Mann also has some great chill out music in his movies.

Beach Scene (from Thief) - Tangerine Dream (instrumental)
Graham's Theme (from Manhunter) - Michael Rubini (instrumental)

Re: What's on your "chill" playlist?

I'm more of an album guy, but I just listened to Balmorhea's All is Wild, All is Silent for the first time and was really impressed with it, very nice folky post-rock.

Now I'm listening to Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works 85-92, classic.

Jose Gonzalez, Norah Jones, Jessica Lea Mayfield, Ray LaMontagne, Dan Auerbach (solo album), some Anthony Hamilton songs, and some Pete Droge songs.

Those are artists I can pretty consistently listen to to when I sleep (I like to listen to music when I sleep) or am just trying to relax. But of course, there are other songs I'll listen to too by other artists, just depends on the mood.

I love Balmorhea. They're great. I'm more a fan of Rivers Arms though.

Yup, and to go even further, "Trap Feeling" from Thief and Seiun by Kitaro from Manhunter are very calming.

Vangelis, specifically Love Theme and Blade Runner Blues along with the entire Direct album.

Jan Hammer, the Beyond the Mind's Eye soundtrack as well as some cues from his Miami Vice scoring days.

Talk Talk, some tracks off of Spirit of Eden and the entire Laughing Stock album.

Forgot to add Roger O'Donnell's solo works "The Truth in Me" and "Songs from the Silver Box"

There's a ton more but those are the biggies.

Rose Smith is awesome.

Unfortunately, she's so chill she hasn't put out a new album in the better part of a decade.

John Coltrane's "My Favorite Things" is my go-to album for all things awesomely chill. I'm not a huge jazz guy but WOW do I love this album. Words can't even describe.

I say you can't go wrong with the Tindersticks. Now that's music to slit your wrists to.

Mason Jennings' album "Use Your Voice". Listen to it outdoors on a cool, clear day with a bottle of your favorite. Dog optional, but recommended
