Re: What are you listening to? [September 2010]
Just checked out the new Killing Joke, featuring the original lineup from 30 years ago. Jaz Coleman (vocals), Geordie (guitar), Youth (bass) and Paul Ferguson (drums). Not that KJ hasn't been putting out some great material the past decade, but I think this a notch above.

Still listening to "Let it Sway" by Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin...and the Beatles in Mono. It's going to be a good week...
I had a debate with my buddy...and I think "Let it Sway" kills "Pershing"...but he still thinks "Pershing" is the better album. The first 3 songs on the "Let it Sway" say differently in my opinion...just a solid...solid album.

You are both wrong as Broom is the superior album. But all three are good and Let it Sway is a wonderfully catchy song if not an antithesis to their earlier and less commercial sound.

Oh yeah, and today I've mostly been listening to this. While I find most of his music tiresome and repetitive, he did have one great album, but mostly I'm only listening to this because its produced by one of my favorite musicians ever in Black Francis/Frank Black, which does show.

Is Broom that good? It's been sitting in my emusic saved items for some time now...but I have yet to bite the bullet. For some reason those damn song credits are like gold.

It was the album that got me into them, but it is nothing like their new album. I like the new album a lot, but I wish they would return to their original less-pop style.

Since last night, it's been mostly this...
...most of which is classic Posies, but some of which is a bit different for them. There were a few tracks which very much reminded me of The Format's Dog Problems, or even Nate Ruess' latest band, Fun - neither of which is a bad thing.

Sleigh Bells - Treats
A friend turned me on to the this yesterday and I have to say that I have never been so instantly blown away by an album in my life. I just cannot get over how insanely awesome their music is. Listening to it is like being punched in the face by an angel.
