Avenged Sevenfold "Nightmare" Has the "Loudness Wars" continued?

I'm actually not the world's biggest fan of these guys, but this album actually gave me a headache. I'd love to see the charts to see how over compressed this album is. Thats as close to CD quality as your gonna get. For those that have heard the album (it drops in 4 minutes  ), did it sound over compressed too or is it just me

Sounds like any other CD to me, but I'm no audiophile so I don't hear any of that bullshit.
But I just wanted to say that this song is awesome. Wish I could say the same about the rest of the album, but this particular song kicks major ass at least.

Well, that certainly sounded like shit. Couldn't tell you anything about "loudness", though.

I like the first song, but yeah, the rest of the album hasn't really grabbed me.

For anyone interested I think they are doing a in-store autograph at the Best Buy in Orange at 6pm on 8-6-2010. Get there early. 2375 N Tustin Avenue, Orange California

same here. the rest is either one of 3
1. bland avenged sevenfold songs
2. really trying too hard to be heavy (god hates us, natural born killer)
3. slow boring ballad

Not that it really matters, but this is the #1 album on Billboard this week.

its because all the scene poser metal kids bought it (and it wouldn't shock me if a good majority of those that bought it are not aware of their 2 screaming albums)

Hahaha...is this song supposed to be funny, because I seriously laughed almost the entire time reading those silly 'lyrics'. This band is horrible. I remember when I first heard them, the song was ok, and then it busted into some part about smelling burning embers and I swore it was a handicapped brother of one of the band mates singing. I thought it might be like a last request or a make a wish thing. Now it's like they just hired that guy to sing full time.

Different strokes I guess. I've liked A7X for awhile, and the song "Nightmare," but the rest of the album just doesn't do much for me. Eh well...

I like the album a lot and I'm not a "scene poser metal kid"
