My definite favorite is Ogden's Nug Gone Flake by the Small Faces

For compilations I'd pick Nuggets II: Original Artyfacts from the British Empire and Beyond, 1964–1969

When I heard that back in 2002 or so along with the first set before that it was a big introduction to a lot of bands. I've since collected everything by every band on those sets. It's a mix of 60s pop and beat music besides some psychedelic sounding stuff on there. Those sets and piper at the gates of dawn are what got me hooked on 60s stuff and I mean massively hooked since it's 90% of what I listen to and there's always more obscure bands to discover.

Never heard any of their main albums, I have the Anthology, but Quicksilver Messenger Service have the psych sound and it's pretty good.

Wow that's impressive. Everything by every band? Aren't there like 90+ bands on there? Even like the Mopes and Los Shakers? Don't some of those bands have like one good song which is the one on the comilation?

Not really would I would call psychodelic. Glam Rock at it's inception.

I just checked over the lists and for all of them I have everything they recorded (for bands that became popular later like Guess Who, Status Quo I'm only referring to their 60s stuff in that style, the rest doesn't interest me so much)

Bands like kaleidoscope, new colony six, music machine, blossom toes, Q 65, etc have really great albums worth checking out.

the mops, I have their first album which is pretty funny because their english isn't so great. The other stuff they released isn't in a garage rock style like that. Los Shakers I have several albums by them, they're pretty good, some of it isn't in english though.

a lot of those bands have many good songs, others not much with just a bunch of covers but generally most of them are pretty good.

some of the bands on there only released a few singles or just one (tintern abbey) There's so many other 60s compilations out there too worth checking out from Crypt, Norton Records, Sundazed, homemade ones etc. there was a shitload of bands back then and their strongest stuff was their few singles, otherwise they would just play dances with cover songs mostly.
