I read something on the R.E.M. HQ page yesterday that at the latest U2 show in Frankfurt that Bono made a nod to Stipe (who was in the audience) by putting in a line or two from "It's the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" into the song "Vertigo".
