Radiohead LP8 (Possibly Out This Year?!)

In an interview on BBC 6 yesterday, Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien said the band are currently in the studio wrapping up album number eight, as At Ease points out. "It's genuinely exciting. It's very different from what we did last time. It's really nice to be doing this," he said, contrasting the sessions with the recording of In Rainbows, which he referred to as "a slog." Talking about a timetable for the release, O'Brien offered the following: "Ideally, it would be great if it came out sometime this year. It has got to; I hope so. We're at the finishing line. When you're making a record, a film, write a book for ages and ages you think the finishing line is miles away. Now it feels it's in touching distance. But of course, it being a creative process, at the last bit also, you have bursts of energy, you achieve a lot of things in a small period of time and then you're nearly there. It might slow down. If they release it in the same manner as In Rainbows, why wouldn't a matter of weeks be possible? Once it's mastered - it's ready.
Plus I don't think it is a sure thing that they will release this one digitally beforehand. |

Any update on this album? They are one of the few artists I like to own a physical copy of their disc rather than an itunes download.

I can see not caring for HttT but In Rainbows was excellent, IMO. HttT was a fine collection of songs but In Rainbows was a helluva album.

Yeah both are good albums but In Rainbows was terrific. Can't wait for a new album, and they can release it any way they want, I will buy. |

The new Radiohead album The King Of Limbs will be on general release on CD and 12” vinyl in all music stores and digital retailers from March 28th. As much as I enjoy seeing the collector's versions that some of my favorite artists put together, at the end of the day, a CD pressing will satisfy my needs. Can't wait til March 28th!
