What are some good music news websites?
 

I always feel like I miss out on concert information, or that X Band has a new single coming out, or so on. What's a good website for music news? Preferably rock music, but really, any website that covers music in general (and not just Top 40)?

Any suggestions?

It really depends on what you're into, as you can likely find some niche sites that cater specifically to your interests. But if you're just looking for general info on relatively well-known bands, auto's list of sites should meet your needs. Pollstar in particular will provide you with concert dates. You can register with them and get an emailed list of new dates for specific bands, venues, or cities.

From looking at this, Blabbermouth seems to be the only one that even remotely has what I'm looking for, and it's pretty drilled down in terms of genre. Any other suggestions?

I use the Songkicker plugin. You set up a free account and mark cities near you that you want to monitor for concerts. It monitors what i play on my iPod/iTunes and then when an artist in my library has a concert in one of the venues i marked i get an email.

Handy enough for me.

I use Pollstar for upcoming concerts, and usually use Pitchfork for news. I don't read their reviews, though.
