Mumford & Sons
Anyone else listening to these guys? I picked up their debut album yesterday - it's called Sigh No More - and love it. I can't see how folks who are fans of acts like the Pogues and the Avett Brothers wouldn't dig them.
Here's a link to their video for "Little Lion Man":

Re: Mumford & Sons
Heard them last week for the first time; a friend had seen them on one of the late night talk shows and bought the album. Sounded pretty good to me also (and you're talking to someone who picked the Avett Brothers as their #1 album last year).
They're touring also, or at least they're playing Boston later this spring. Hope to check them out...

Re: Mumford & Sons
My cousin is studying abroad in England this year and she just recommended them to me a couple weeks ago. I like they're vibe, they immediately reminded me of the Avett Brothers, but with the same caveat, that some of their songs I totally dig and others not so much.

Re: Mumford & Sons
Of what I have listened to (and I'll admit, perhaps, that may be limiting)... this is definitely one of the best albums I've heard from the last 5 years.
Here's hoping they make their way out to Michigan soon. I heard they kicked ass at Lolla.

I saw them at Lolla and they had a great set - they had more enthusiastic response than the band before and after them.

I didn't like these guys too much when their single was getting played a few months ago, but since then I've really really warmed up to them. I've yet to buy the album, but I'm thinking about picking up the deluxe version. Too bad it's 3x+ the cost of the regular one.

Mumford & Sons -- new album 09/24/2012
Mumford & Sons' Sophomore Album to be Released this September
UPDATE: According to 3FM DJ Roosmarijn Reijmer the band said the album’s release date is Sept. 24. (Via Mumford & Sons Blog Tumblr).
Mumford & Sons’ sophomore album is set to be released this September, according to an announcement from the band during their performance at the Pinkpop Festival in The Netherlands today. During the appearance, keyboardist and vocalist Ben Lovett announced the album’s release after frontman Marcus Mumford announced that it was finished.
Recording for the album started in March 2011 with producer Markus Dravs, who also produced the band’s debut album, Sigh No More.
“I think we could perhaps record it ourselves, but we’d get lost in our own sorts…[Dravs is] really good at bringing a little bit of structure and order to very disorganized minds,” Lovett told Rolling Stone about recording the album.
Over the course of the year, the band has previewed new material that’s expected to appear on the new album. You can take a listen to a new track “Ghosts That We Knew” here.
The band also announced today that they will play the Jazz Aspen Festival in Colorado. The festival is also set to include performances from Joe Cocker, K.D. Lang and Kid Rock. You can check out the festival’s website here.

They are playing tonight in Salt Lake City but they are sold out, is it worth it to pay 80 to go see them?

Re: Mumford & Sons -- new album 09/24/2012
Last year the highlight was probably them coming out to the center of the stage literally completely unplugged and acoustic and hushed the 4K size crowd and jammed a couple of songs, so rare to have the kind of intamcy of a bar show at that large of a venue. Great vibe, I don't know how anybody can hear their music and not want to stomp your foot or dance. Seriously counting the days until next Tuesday.
