Joanna Newsom - Have One On Me
 

Joanna Newsom's new album is a 3-CD set. There is some fantastic stuff on it. I have hope for the youth of America when an artist like this comes along. Love the Captain Beefheart vocal style on "Soft as Chalk." ("Lawlessness!")

In case you missed it, she was on the Jimmy Fallon show last week. Her rendition of "Soft As Chalk" on the show was even better than the album version, IMO. Enjoy.

She is amazing. LOVE the new album, it's my 2nd favorite of the year, with nearly 30 albums listened to. Just fantastic.

I've been posting about this album for a while. It's my 2nd fav of the year (I've heard about 140 albums so far).

I will join the "Second Favorite of the Year" club (I've listened to 138 albums so far - I love Lala.com). Beach House is my #1.

Beach House isn't my favorite but it is definitely worthy of topping one's list.

My second least favorite album of the year. :) I just don't get the appeal, and I've been trying.

I'll give most anything a listen, but I found that performance interminable. Are there any other tracks you would recommend?

Even though Joanna Newsom is one of the very few artists that would very well work the word "interminable" into one of her songs, if you felt that way about that song, then she's probably not the artist for you.

I love this album. She needs to put out a dvd just so I can spend 2 hours watching her facial expressions as she sings. According to my iTunes playlist I have listened to nothing but "Baby Birch" for the last two weeks.
