... of not being able to judge a book by its cover. Feast your eyes on a German thrash band called Fatal Embrace.

Yikes. But listening to their MySpace tracks, these guys kick ass pretty hard. Very good old school 80s style thrash like I haven't heard in a while.

Damn funny.

A lot of metal seems to be like that. The musicians look like muffler repairmen at a retro 80s costume party, but the truth is they're dudes who've been playing metal and honing their chops for 15+ years.

uh, what cookie monster vocal? Unless i'm going deaf (or listen to too much deep vocal/cookie monster shit), thats not that style.

yeah i agree, they're old school thrash vocals, not the death metal growl. But for folks who haven't listened to a great deal of death metal, all vocals that aren't sung to a recognizable melody are "cookie monster"

HORRIBLE thread title... glad I actually clicked on it (I almost never click on vague thread titles).

EXCELLENT thrash! Vocals are very old school. Very Paul Balloffish. I like this.

Sorry guys. :) Was trying to be clever with the title.

Yep, they look German.

I wonder what caliber groupie these guys can swing. Are they getting young german poon, broads their own age who have kept it together and can discuss the same bands from 20 years ago, old housefraus who are escaping their boring lives with Klaus for a night, or some amalgamation, maybe it's something really cool that I don't even know about

Probably none. Richard Christy was in Death & Iced Earth, two kind of similar bands, and he says on Stern that it was a total sausage fest at their shows and he hardly got laid or any groupies at all.

That's not surprising. Thrash and more extreme forms of metal rarely attract girls.

A Nightwish concert, OTOH...

it depends what you'd call extreme, since the deathcore crap (the bree bree breakdown stuff, essentially 85% of this years warped tour), does attract the ladies
