"Me and You and a Dog Named Boo" by Lobo - who has heard this song?

Released in 1971, peaked at #5.

There are only two kinds of DVDTalk.com members: those who have heard Me and You and a Dog Named Boo, and those who have not.

Those who have were probably born before 1980. Those who have not, after.

Those who have probably have a wide, eclectic taste in music. Those who have not...probably only know Top 40 post-1990.

Those who have probably watched a lot of TV and saw those K-Tel commercials which included a clip of the song. Those who have not...probably got up and missed those commercials.

Re: "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo" by Lobo - who has heard this song?

I remember to this day
The bright red Georgia clay
And how it stuck to the tires
After the summer rain
Will power made that old car go
A woman's mind told me that so
Oh how I wish
We were back on the road again

Me and you and a dog named boo
Travelin' and livin' off the land
Me and you and a dog named boo
How I love being a free man

I can still recall
The wheat fields of St. Paul
And the day we all got caught
Stealing from an old hen
Old McDonald he made us work
But then he paid us for what it was worth Another tank of gas And back on the road again

I'll never forget the day
We motored stately into big L.A.
The lights of the city put settlin'
Down in my brain
Though it's only been a month or so
That old car's buggin' us to go
We've gotta get away and get back on
The road again

Worst song ever? Maybe? Perhaps it's "We Built this City".

"We Built This City" has no business being in the same neighborhood of this song.

Love this song. I remember as a kid it was one of my favorite 45s to play on the jukebox that my parents had. My young kids dig it now. Great song.

It is a great song, too. I love how some parts are just guitar, and other parts are baby-grand piano. A classic touch to a classic song.

They can't be in the same neighborhood? Hell, they built the whole damn city!

I can't vote since the poll option, 'Of course I have - horrible song', doesn't exist.

"I'd Love You To Want me" was almost recorded by The Hollies, to follow up their 1972 hit Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress). Almost.

I always liked it. Me and You and A Dog named Boo- i'm talking about.
I guess it helps if you grew up during the 70's era, which I did.
Heard the song many times.

Id Love you to want me was on a k-tel record set that I bought
way back in the 70's. This was good too.

Re: "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo" by Lobo - who has heard this song?

See, some songs can be timeless, as I was born in the 70's and grew up on the eighties and nineties music. However, I embraced music that pre-dated me while I was in my 20's, and it's still the case now in my late-30's.

I love how the only way you can admit to hearing this song in the poll is by declaring it "great".

If he were alive today, grundle would be proud.

I've heard it. Many times. Pleasant, disposable, not even close to being "great."

I love how the only option for hearing this song means you have to deny the Holocaust.

And yes, I've heard it (I remember it on the radio when I was REAL young), got it on my iPod somewhere from the Time Life AM Gold collection.

I've submitted poll option #4 to the National Linguistics Association for decryption. I'll let everyone know what it means when I get the results.

I cant believe people are defending this song. Seriously, this is up there with "She's Having my Baby" in the awful seventies singer-songwriter Olympics.

in New York City, radio stations would dedicate an hour to Led Zeppelin music, and they called it "Getting the Led Out." I thought it was a more "universal" term, but I guess it isn't. It's a "local" term for New Yorkers. Shorry.

You're crazy. This song is about freedom, and every time I hear it, I get transported back to a time of innocence and whimsy. The guitar parts are grand. Grand, I say!

She's Having My Baby makes me want to puke! Paul Anka fell far from what he once was by 1975.
