Smithereens fans...

What do you think of this song?

The first time I heard it I immediately thought of Pat DiNizio and company (I like a lot of the Smithereens stuff, and this really reminded me of some of the songs I heard from them 20 years ago). The opening chord progression and the way they play the chords like an arpeggio - to me that's really Smithereen-esque.

Agree? Disagree? I'm just curious as to what Smithereens fans think.

And I tend to think that the Smithereens is one of the more underrated bands of the last 20 or so years. DiNizio is a great songwriter.

I see what you are saying, but there is definitely a slight metalish sludge that the Smithereens just avoided in comparison.

Re: Smithereens fans...

The intro is definitely Smithereens-ish. Once Paul Stanley starts singing, though, it gets less and less so.

Either way, it's a good song.
