The 2010 new Rush album and tour thread.

According to 105.7 WAPL in Milwaukee it looks like Rush is playing Summerfest in Milwaukee on July 3rd, 2010, however there are no offical tour dates yet.

There have been months of rumors that Rush has been working on a new album for a late spring/early summer release. There has also been talk that Rush will only release a couple songs directy to the Internet, but I don't see that happening I expect at least an EP in support of this tour.

If you are thinking about seeing them this maybe the last time they go on tour, so start saving your pennies now. As for the last summer tours the tickets went on sale in early March and that isn't that far away!

I'll post more info when I get it.

Re: The 2010 new Rush album and tour thread.

I thought Snakes & Arrows was their best since Grace Under Pressure or Power Windows, so I'm eager for them to put out some new stuff. I've heard that the same producer is on board, so that's a good sign.

Re: The 2010 new Rush album and tour thread.

Finally! There is a countdown clock on Rush.com and in a little over 24 hours we should know what is going on!

The way I hear it Rush will have a mini tour this summer with about 45 dates, then they will go back in to the studio and finish the album and have a larger tour next year. They said they would play new material on the smaller tour but I'm not sure if it will be available for download or not.

My 25 year-old coworker, who really does have good musical taste, said to me a few weeks ago, "The lead singer of Rush is a woman, right?" I had to school him.

Just thought I'd share.

That reeks of an awesomeness I cannot accurately describe without stammering and flailing my arms around like an idiot...

...so I'll just say, "Cool."

I'm pretty sure I have heard boots with The Camera Eye being played. On the MP tour or maybe the tour they did before Signals.

Re: The 2010 new Rush album and tour thread.

I'm not impressed with them playing all of Moving Pictures, yes it is cool but they play most of the album anyway; the only two new songs are The Camera Eye and Vital Signs. Now if they would have played Caress of Steel or Hemispheres then I would have been impressed; I would have also like to have heard the Fear triology as well.

Re: The 2010 new Rush album and tour thread.

Looks like trip to KC for me, because having the St. Louis date be the day before school starts, and going to school 4 hours away won't work.

Re: The 2010 new Rush album and tour thread.

Yes!! Finally, a concert on a Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think every concert I have been to in the last year has been on a weekday.

I hope by calling this the Time Machine tour they resurrect some older, rarely played album tracks.

I would kill to hear some oddball track like Chain Lightning, Kid Gloves, Something for Nothing or resurrect something like Beneath, Between, Behind.

Oh yeah! I think this will be the tenth tour for me!

October 2nd, Cruzan Amphitheatre, West Palm Beach FL... I am SO there.

I've been a HUGE Rush fan since I was 12 (1983)... and I've never seen them live. This will be awesome!

Re: The 2010 new Rush album and tour thread.

They did a decent job of playing some obscure stuff at the beginning of the S&A tour. Of course they swapped them out on later legs for the same old shit, but at least it shows a willingness to bring some of that stuff back.

They played Vital Signs too...back on the 2002 tour I believe. Anyway I am hoping they will play a few more songs that have never been performed live. I would love to hear Countdown.

Ugh, these tour dates suck balls for me. Gotta go and put some time in to find a date that I can end up driving to.
