SCORPIONS calling it quits after album & lengthy tour

Couldn't find it posted anywhere else and just saw it on their site. Loved their Humanity: Hour 1 CD and am looking forward to seeing them if they come to the states.

Important Message to our Fans

It was always our pleasure, our purpose in life, our passion and we were fortunate enough to make music for you - whether it was live on stage or in the studio, creating new songs.

While we were working on our album these past few months, we could literally feel how powerful and creative our work was – and how much fun we were still having, in the process. But there was also something else: We want to end the Scorpion’s extraordinary career on a high note. We are extremely grateful for the fact that we still have the same passion for music we’ve always had since the beginning. This is why, especially now, we agree we have reached the end of the road. We finish our career with an album we consider to be one of the best we have ever recorded and with a tour that will start in our home country Germany and take us to five different continents over the next few years.

We want you, our fans, to be the first to know about this. Thank you for your never-ending support throughout the years!

We uploaded the very first snippets from our new album for you.

And now… let’s get the party started and get ready for a “Sting in the Tail”!

See you on the world tour,

Yours

Scorpions

Kinda has the aroma of a play for a cash-out, no?

Scorpions were my favorite band from 83 to 85 timeframe, although I never did see them live. Maybe this "farewell" tour will give me that opportunity.

I saw them around '88 with Great White co-headlining and Trixter opening up for both bands. Scorpions easily blew away the other two bands!

I think I'll finally go to a Scorpions show. Their last two albums have been pretty good, so hopefully they'll continue the trend and go out on a high note. Hopefully we'll get lucky and Michael Schenker will appear on a few stops.

Scorpions were my first concert ever back in '92 or '93. I only went bc some friends of mine had an extra ticket, and I'd never been to a conert before.

Well there comes a time in everybody's career when it's just time to hang'em up.
I was a big fan of them with their 70's- early 80's work. After the Poison- Cinderella faze of the
80's I kind of passed them on by. But they've been good for the most part.
