Pretty decent "geek" remix albums.
This guy is a formal local radio host turned podcaster who has released two albums of "geek" remixes.
http://www.myspace.com/fatboyroberts There's some samples from his third album up there now as well as a few from albums I and II which are freely downloadable on the same page. Highlights includes: Sonny's Interlude a remix of the "Godfather" theme [on album two] Criminal Mischief a mash-up/remix featuring music from "The Blues Brothers", Zapp, and the Brides of Frankenstein [on album two] Acheron Windstorm a remix of the Ripley's theme from "Aliens" [on album one] The Public Defender a remix of the "Night Court" theme [on album one] Meatlocker a mash-up/remix featuring the "Rocky" fanfare theme and Going the Distance from the same film [on album one] One Minus Two a remix of the Underworld theme from "Super Mario Bros" [on album one] Some of the stuff falls flat in my opinion, mostly the Star Wars tracks, which I've never heard remixed well using their orchestral original forms. However, it's a nice effort and a pretty fun listen. |
