The Official 2010 Rank 'em as You Hear Them Thread
With little more than a week left in the year & many great 2010 albums already starting to be available to listen to it's that time for the hardcore music lovers like myself to use this thread to keep track & rankings of your favorite new music of 2010.
You can view last year's thread here http://forum.dvdtalk.com/music-talk/...9-edition.html 2010 Rank'em as You Hear Them Thread There are some simple rules to follow: This thread is for ranking albums that are released in 2010 only. This does not include reissues or albums that you have purchased/heard for the first time this year but were released in prior years. This does not include albums released at the end of 2009 or that you just discovered in 2010. Keep your list in one post (edit!) and keep them in some sort of order Note: Please don't use a "placeholder" post if you don't actually plan on updating your list. You know who you are! :) I'm usually pretty active in this thread & I buy a ton of music, so I would like to go back to compiling a list at the end of the year & I will count everyone's rankings to make a DVD Talk Best Music of 2010 final list. Check out each other's list, see if your tastes are similar & try something new, & hopefully we can all check out some great new music in 2010! Thanks! :rock: |

There were a ton of highly anticipated albums for me in 2009, which makes it a little surprising that I can't think of anything besides the new Red Sparowes that I'm currently looking forward to. Maybe I'm just not paying enough attention.

1. Vampire Weekend - Contra (5/10) Very much a disappoinment after their energetic and catchy debut. "Cousins" is the only song that stands out to me.
2. Surfer Blood - Astro Coast (4/10) 2010's overhyped indie band of the year. 3. Owen Pallett - Heartland (8/10) Pretty damn good and emotional. Definitely the first notable album of 2010. 4.
