Springsteen: What happened to the anniversary edition of "Darkness?"

2008 was the 30th anniversary of Springsteen's second greatest album, Darkness on the Edge of Town. Both Bruce and producer John Landau mentioned that they were working on a special boxed version of the album, similar to the anniversary version of Born To Run, complete with documentary and live DVD.

Well...?

I've been wondering the same thing myself. Google search shows a ton of details, and what was to be a release date, but not much else.

According to a recent (11/19/09) Rolling Stone article, the Darkness box is still in the works for 2010 along with a DVD of the Working On A Dream tour.

So that means the 30th Anniversary edition of The River will be, what, about 2015?

I guess I can excuse them for the fact that they have on tour and recording virtually non-stop over the last two years.

I love this quote from Steve about Clarence in the Stone article: "He may fantasize about retiring, but with all his ex-wives I doubt it."

I wonder what show they will use for the DVD of the last tour (and please let it be on Blu-ray, please!)

I figured they would. I guess the real question is, if they put out a concert video from '78 with the Darkness box, would it be available in Blu? The footage I've seen from the '78 tour hasn't exactly great quality.

Agreed, but considering the quality of the Hammersmith 75 show they released with the BTR box, which no one even suspected existed before the release, I've got my fingers crossed that there are treasures in the vault we aren't aware of...
