Re: Public Enemy looking for fans to fund new album
Comes off as desperate and unnecessary. Sure, they're a long, long way from Fear of a Black Planet, but I'm sure there's at least one decent label out there that would put out a Public Enemy album.
Last PE album I was aware of, they had fans submit beats/tracks to them. They should just do that again; you basically get your album made for free and a dozen or so people get to be proud that their music made it onto a Public Enemy album. Hell, maybe they even got paid, who knows?!

Oh, I'm not angry about it. It just seems strange to me the amount they are looking for. If they really wanted to make an album like this you would think they would set their sights a little lower. 250k seems a bit of a stretch.

On the page, someone actually did buy 100 "parts." I guess it could be someone who knows them personally or involved in some way.
How many copies did the last few albums sell? I'd guess under a 100,000? Anyone know?
