Yea... not dropping $300 on that, but I do love LE sets.

And I'm waiting to hear the album proper. I love Rammstein too much to cheat them!

Probably going to get this at Best Buy next week. I thought I read about them having an exclusive on bonus tracks, but there's an Amazon listing that also lists bonus tracks so who knows.

^ It's the US version that has bonus tracks, so anywhere you get it should have them.

Picked up the album at BB today. For any fellow fans of the band I would advise not passing up the special edition because the bonus songs are pretty good and well worth the extra few bucks.

I'm not fond of when they try and throw in English lyrics (it just sounds forced and doesn't fit), but love the music on this one

A lot of people seem to not like when they use English lyrics, but my favorite song of theirs is actually their Stripped cover.

Re: Rammstein - Liebe ist für alle da 10/16/09

The new album is pretty good. A few songs are just awesome. My favs are Haifisch, Ich Tu Dir Weh, Waidmanns Heil, Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da, Pussy, and Mehr. The others are okay, still letting them grow on me. Roter Sand is pretty boring so far and hard to listen to. The bonus 5 tracks are a mixed bag. 2 are great and the other 3 are meh so far. Definitely pick up the limited edition one if you can, sucks they didnt include the lyrics to the 5 bonus songs.. Now if we could only get their new concerts released on Blu that would be awesome. Im sure it will happen someday, but never soon enough. Just think of the Pussy video in BD....

I decided to just go with the Special Edition 2-disk one. The pictures inside are interesting enough.

I love that cover as well. I think the problem isn't with Til's English singing so much as the fact that Rammstein's lyrics are often relatively simple and juvenile. Sure, they sound badass and menacing in German, but when they do tracks like "Engel" or "Du Hast" in English, you see why people prefer the German versions.

That being said, I can't wait to go pick this up today.

Still spinning this one. Love it, as expected. Rammstein is such a solid band. I've loved every single one of their albums and they hold infinite repeat value.

Anyone else love their ballads? I think they write some of the most serene, melodic slow songs for a metal band. Absolutely beautiful.

The bonus tracks are well worth it, as well. Very solid songs. They should have been part of the album itself, imo.

Edit: anyone know why Roter Sand (Orchester Version) and Liese are essentially the same song? Different mix?

Nebel is one the my favorite of all their slower songs.

They made 4 versions of Roter Sand and we have 3 of them on the SE version. Regular, Orchester, and Liese. The 4th version will probably be on the next single as a B side or something.

And if you want some Pussy... here is the making of video. its about 20 mins w/ english subs.

Re: Rammstein - Liebe ist für alle da 10/16/09

^ Thanks. I obviously wasn't listening close enough. I played them back-to-back last night and, though I don't sprecken ze Deutsch (sic, I'm sure), I was able to deduce that the lyrics were different.

I love the album big time. Current fav tracks are Rammleid, Fruhling in Paris, Roter Sand and Fuhre Mich.

They better get their asses out to the US for a tour!

Didn't exactly focus on the parts of the video I wanted to see the making of.

I know. Maybe they will save that for the next DVD or BD

So far the album is great but its taking me time to really get into Fruhling in Paris and Roter Sand and its other companions. My favs to this point are Rammleid, Haifisch, Ich To Dir Weh, Liebe is fur alle da, Waidmanns Heil, Mehr, Halt and Weiner Blut.

Re: Rammstein - Liebe ist für alle da 10/16/09

I've had great expectations for new Rammstein album but as a longtime Rammstein fan I feel rather unsatisfied. I enjoy the first few songs on the album, and the bonus disc is a great add on. None of the songs are bad in the way that I won't listen to them but just don't reach the bar set by the first few songs.

I think LIFAD could have been a much better album, more focused. I don't want to say that the band is not trying anymore, but I just can't feel the power and magic, Rammstein-ness that their previous releases had. Every time I listen to Mein Herz Brennt, I get chills, but I can't find a song like that on LIFAD.

To be fair, I have to say that the cover ist fantastic and probably their best so far. Definitely 10/10 for cover .

Nothing will ever be as great as the Mutter album. Hopefully they come to the US next year in concert. I havent seen them since July 5th, 2001 when they last toured in the US.

Re: Rammstein - Liebe ist für alle da 10/16/09

Good news!

From Blabbermouth.net:

"Liebe Ist Für Alle Da", the new album from the German rock band RAMMSTEIN, sold 22,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 13 on The Billboard 200 chart. Previously, the group's best rank came with its 1998 chart debut, "Sehnsucht", which peaked at No. 45 off the strength of its only U.S. radio chart hit, "Du Hast". Although the band just had its highest chart debut, "Reise, Reise" sold over 26,000 copies in the U.S. its opening week of sales.

Worldwide chart positions reaffirm RAMMSTEIN's status as one of the most internationally popular rock bands with seven #1 sales chart positions including their native Germany as well as platinum and gold certifications already awarded for numerous European countries.

Mutter is still my favorite. I love every song on it. I think it was that time that they "peaked" and really couldn't get any more ridiculous both in their lyrics and stage show.

After all, who writes a song like "Zwitter" and can actually fill it full of catchy hooks that get stuck in your head, and then play that song on stage while pretending to be in a laboratory full of men in diapers? A+
