Rock Stars Who Converted to Christianity?
Another topic I've found interesting lately. Can anyone think of some examples? Here are the ones I've found:
Alice Cooper - many people would be suprised to know that the dark evil Alice Cooper is really a born again Christian. Somehow he reconciles his faith with his dark alter ego.
Brian Head Welch - one of the most publicized and amazing conversions. Brian tells his story of hitting rock bottom with drug addiction. Through his faith, he was able to leave drugs behind overnight. He quit Korn, and developed his own Kornish brand of Christian rock, complete with religious tattoos and gothic styles.
Dave Mustaine - Dave became a Christian during a painful recovery period when he had nerve damage in his arm. He refused to play a concert with a band called Rotting Christ after his conversion.

Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden -- I don't know if he's a "convert", necessarily, but he's heavily involved in his church down here in Boca Raton, FL.
And of course, there's always Zimmerman.

he was raised Catholic which was a big inspiration on Slayers music (knowing what buttons to push) but I don't think he practices

Bushwick Bill of the Geto Boys. His Myspace page says that "in 2006 he recommitted his life to Jesus." His new album is Christian rap.

Re: Rock Stars Who Converted to Christianity?
In April 2007, Steele revealed that he began identifying himself as Roman Catholic in recent years, after decades of self-professed atheism. In an interview with Decibel magazine, Steele explains “There are no atheists in foxholes, they say, and I was a foxhole atheist for a long time. But after going through a midlife crisis and having many things change very quickly, it made me realize my mortality. And when you start to think about death, you start to think about what’s after it. And then you start hoping there is a God. For me, it’s a frightening thought to go nowhere. I also can’t believe that people like Stalin and Hitler are gonna go to the same place as Mother Teresa.”[4]

I still didn't believe it until I heard it from his own lips in "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey".
Even more shocking is that he eats yogurt!

Not mega-stars, but...
Josh Caterer from the Smoking Popes. The band broke up after his conversion and he formed Duvall with some SP members, which put out a couple of okay albums (I actually like their Christmas one better).
John Davis from Superdrag. I really like his self-titled post-conversion solo album.

Dropping the whole "born-again" thing means we might get badass Dave back.
