#5 was tough. I prefer Radiohead, but Stevie Wonder is very, very talented.

Agreed. I almost didn't vote at all, but then I figured Stevie would need my vote.

Marvin Gaye
Bob Marley
Bob Dylan
The Doors (Another tough one, at an earlier moment in my life Nirvana would have won the while thing)
Stevie Wonder
The Boss
Metallica
Van Halen

Add me to the list. That was the toughest one yet. I went with Radiohead in the end.

Didn't vote in 2 or 6, seeing as how I'm either unfamiliar with most of their work (Priest and, to a far lesser extent, Marley) or just sort of "eh..." to them in general (NIN and Springsteen). As for the other matchups:

1 - Marvin Gaye (tough one, especially as I have recently been listening to Discography and have found it's pretty much wall-to-wall genius; but alas, I'll stick with Gaye)
3 - Bob Dylan (easy one, though I like The Killers)
4 - The Doors (like NoirFan, Nirvana had more resonance for me when I was younger. Still like listening to them, but I tip the scales to The Doors, an amazing and rarely instrumental trio that were unfortunately marred occasionally by their dumbass singer)
5 - Stevie Wonder (though I have lots of love for Radiohead)
7 - Metallica (easy!)
8 - Van Halen (Along with Pearl Jam and The Smashing Pumpkins, Rage was one of those big 90's bands I just could not understand all the accolades and popularity. At least the other two bands had some great songs here and there; Rage couldn't even muster up one decent song)

Are you serious? Just out of curiosity, how old are you?

I picked all the first choices of the match ups. Is that like picking the chalk in the NCAA bracket?

No, not really because Gaye and Marley are actually the lower seeds in their matchups. They are just listed fiirst because I take the names right off the bracket I use.

Marvin Gaye. I like Pet Shop Boys, but seriously.
Bob Marley. I hate Judas Priest.
Bob Dylan. Pretty much a no brainer.
Nirvana. The Doors are one of my all-time least favorite bands.
Radiohead. Very tough, but I like Radiohead a bit more. I've seen both in concert, and both were excellent.
Bruce Springsteen. Seriously?
I abstained from the final two, as I really don't like any of those four bands.

Most of these were pretty easy, but I abstained from the Dylan/Killers match-up. It depends on my mood, but I'd probably prefer listening to the Killers about 75% of the time. That said, it'd feel like sacrilege to vote for them over Dylan, even if it is just personal listening preference.

Pet Shop Boys

Metallica vs STP was a very hard choice for me. But it came down to the fact that I don't care for STP's music nearly as much post-Purple. Wish they would have stuck with the style from the their first album. So I went with Metallica since they have stayed consistenly fucking awesome.
