Re: Death Metal + Autotune + Emo = ??

I was curious and listened to that "Punk goes 90's" CD at Borders...a punk cover of Bjork? Gin Blossoms?

The cover of "Song 2" was pretty much the exact same song as the original!

I liked the cover of Losing My Religion, Enjoy the Silence and All I Want, but it isn't worth picking up new in store.

Re: Death Metal + Autotune + Emo = ??

Its not worth it at all because whoever did "Hey Jealousy" turned it into a generic "punk" song.

I'm all for taking known songs and changing things up, they did nothing for the song. It sounds like every other stock "punk" song that finds its way onto racing video game soundtracks.

this video is great. The clean singer/autotune guy gets hit with something, says "fuck" 7 times in 12 seconds, and sounds like he's gonna cry. Oh and the screaming guy sucks

Wow, I didn't realize that on top of being a terrible band, they are also ugly as sin.

Wow, their terrible music video did not properly prepare me for how awful they are live. They are on the Warped Tour with The Dillinger Escape Plan. I hope DEP, who I don't like at all, whoop Attack Attack!'s ass.

Re: Death Metal + Autotune + Emo = ??

I'm not going to Warped this year, because I don't know anyone in any of the bands and I refuse to pay for shitty bands. Which is good for people I know.

Re: Death Metal + Autotune + Emo = ??

Now to veer the thread towards an actual discussion of emo. What is everyone's favorite emo or emo-related albums? Here are mine:

1. Rites of Spring - End on End
2. Benton Falls - Guilt Beats Hate
3. Braid - Frame and Canvas
4. Yaphet Kotto - The Killer Was in the Government Blankets
5. Funeral Diner - The Underdark

Those Punk Goes... compilations put out by Fearless Records are absolutely brutal. Only their first comp, Punk Goes Metal, has any redeeming songs, the most notable of which are Strung Out's cover of "Bark at the Moon" and Bigwig's "War Ensemble."

I haven't heard these comps, but I remember seeing Bigwig about 11 years ago and being the ONLY one in the crowd who was able to sing along when they played War Ensemble.

Thanks for the laugh OP.

I always never wondered what a jam session between Slayer, My Chemical Romance and Real McCoy would sound like.

Richard Cheese is HOT. I'd so do him.

Didn't they use this in the Dawn of the Dead remake?

Austin Carlile (ex-lead singer from Attack Attack) is no longer with "Of Mice & Men." I think he quit the band because of heart problems.

I assume that acoustic version is being done mockingly. If so, well done. If not, then damn!

If that's true, those young men should be ashamed of themselves.
