CDs from different countries

I want to get cds from various areas, such as England, Russia, Japan, etc.

Do those cds work in the players here? I know that DVDs are formatted differently, so I thought I'd ask before actually purchasing the cds.

Thanks for your help

Music CDs are universal. I buy import CDs from Amazon.com all the time and they play fine.

As pointed out CDs are universal, however any bonus pack-in DVDs will more than likely be region coded.

If you know you are getting a limited edition like that where the DVD might be region coded, check the artist's official site and you may be able to get a R1 version that way.

Most of the bonus DVDs that I bought in and outside the US are usually region 0.

watch out though, some Region 0 DVD's from the UK can be PAL, not NTSC.
