was the 'Wired' BBC2 Radio thing an actual release or a broadcast, I'm assuming it was the latter.

Seeing them in 2 weeks time at The O2 in London. Support act in Frankmusik but I was hoping it was going to be Little Boots.

according to ticketmaster the shows are being billed in the US as "an evening with" meaning NO opening act (and that's a good thing!)

They didn't have an opening act on the 'Fundamental' tour either, and it was very nice.

Though I kind of wish they'd bring along someone - there's lots to choose from these days. Little Boots and/or Frankmusik like the O2 shows are getting, or maybe La Roux.

Re: Pet Shop Boys - Yes 03/23 [UK]

I got mine for Boston yesterday - apparently we got off easy with a $39.50 price tag. [On the Fundamental tour we paid $60 for mid-level seats at a different venue also in Boston, so that was a very nice surprise!]

We toyed with the idea of the VIP passes but in the end decided it wouldn't be worth the extra $120 a piece.

The single it out digitally in the US on Amazon today, by the way. All of the b-sides from all the various UK formats on one of 2 EPs. Not a bad deal - they're all quite good, outside of the Unicorn Kid mix of "Did you see me coming?" which is dreadful.

Sir you are so right on "Unicorn Kid Mix" sound so out of place! (I both EP'S).

The one mix that's the best is one by Pet Shop Boys (Possibly More Mix) I love that mix!

It is incredible, isn't it? A total reinvention of the song - kind of like the extended mix of "Miracles", but taken to even the next level from that. I'm also a gigantic Richard X fan so I'm totally in love with his version of "The way it used to be".

How do you get presale passwords? I want to go to the LA show, but right now it's presale only with a code. Do you have to join the fan club or something?

Re: Pet Shop Boys - Yes 03/23 [UK]

SETLIST for the first show on the tour! interesting choices... great opening... playing a few songs they've never played before... decent selection (and the right ones too) from the new album... completely ignoring the last couple of albums... doing a coldplay cover (what's up with that? - that makes 3 covers in the set even though they've recorded the other two)...

1. Heart
2. Did You See Me Coming?
3. Pandemonium
4. Love Comes Quickly
5. Love Etc.
6. Building A Wall
7. Go West
8. Two Divided By Zero
9. Why Don't We Live Together?
10. Always On My Mind
11. Left To My Own Devices
12. Closer To Heaven
13. King's Cross
14. The Way It Used To Be
15. Jealousy
16. Suburbia
17. All Over The World
18. Se A Vida É (That's The Way Life Is)
19. Viva La Vida (Coldplay cover)
20. It's A Sin
21. Being Boring
22. West End Girls

for some reason, Elton John barring, it seems like almost all European artists who aren't exactly going to attract the crowd that you'd see at a Skynyrd show always seem to avoid red states. It really sucks because I live in KY and I've made peace with the fact that PSB, Erasure, George Michael, Depeche Mode, The Cure (I know the last two are not gay artists) are NEVER going to play in my Kenny Chesney loving state.

I saw Erasure in Louisville, Kentucky! they were the opening band for the Duran Duran Notorious tour way back in 1987 or so... but you're right - none of those other bands you mention ever hit louisville or lexington...

Apparently it is a medley with "Integral". Amazing.

Personally, I'm super excited for "Two divided by zero" and "Why don't we live together". Back to back. Amazing. [Though I can't lie, I'm a little sad to see so much 'Please' yet no "Violence". ]

ha - I didn't even bother looking at the dates/locations due to the same reason - I knew there was no chance for a Louisville date. I was able to see them when I lived in Detroit a few years ago, so I'll just have to live with the memory of that. I hope this tour comes out on DVD, because that setlist is right up my alley (King's Cross - holy shit!)

damn!! I was only 8 in 1987 tho so it was not on my radar yet then LOL. But it would nice if someone came around these parts today. If we can get The Indigo Girls playing our Pride, why can't we get PSB or Erasure? I take it back, we actually did get The B-52's last year.

It's like a few years ago they done a medley of Minimal and Shopping. Gonna see them tonight and hopefully it's the same setlist as above. If I can remember I will try to remember the setlist.
They have announced an extra date at the O2 for 21st December. Don't know if I can make that one though.

Re: Pet Shop Boys - Yes 03/23 [UK]

Great concert, the same setlist as above. The only thing the could've improved on was a 3 song stretch of dancier stuff. You would get up a for boogie and after one you would sit down again! But great to hear so much from the first album. Stuff you don't hear live and yet you always wonder what they sound like.
Great stage design. Really interesting and they didn't go overboard with the dancing like they did on the last tour. Even Chris came from behind the desk for a few moves!

Re: Pet Shop Boys - Yes 03/23 [UK]

I caught the show this weekend in Boston and it was INCREDIBLE. If you've got one coming up, you are in for a treat.

Best bit: dancing skyscrapers during the one/two "Two divided by zero"/"Why don't we live together?" punch.

Worst bit: "Se a vida e". Again. Give it a rest. [Though it was saved by the "Discoteca" coda at the end...would've much rather heard THAT.]
