The Lonely Island -- Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, Akiva Schaffer

This CD is comedy! I got a few tracks I remembered from SNL but then decided to "complete my album" when I heard "I'm on a Boat". Unfortunately there was an error of some kind and now I don't have 3 of the tracks - but iTunes is telling me I have already downloaded everything. Grrr.

Picked it up yesterday and like it for the most part - I was hoping for a bit more newer material but it's pretty fun. Really like Who Says We're Wack, I'm On A Boat, Boombox, Incredibad and Sax Man. Of course it's great to have audio/video copies of Dick in a box, jizz in my pants and lazy sunday too. Like I said, the only negatives is there isn't enough non-SNL stuff and a few tracks miss the mark IMO (Punch in the Jeans, Dreamgirl).

I love the majority of the album. Boombox's chorus is stuck in my goddamn head and it's a joke song. That says something.
I love Dreamgirl only for the turn to the Chex Mix commercial. I think it's goddamn hilarious.
My only wish was that a few other things should've been on the DVD. Roy Rules and Sloths for instance.

I'm really enjoying it. The songs are not only funny but actually good renditions of their particular styles. The spirit of it reminds me of the early Adam Sandler CDs. My only complaint is that I wish there was a Blizzard Man song on there. I know there's a song or two where he does a similar style but I would have loved to have a proper track with Ludacris.

I don't know how I didn't mention Santana DVX in my post earlier, but that is easily one of my favourites too... "I used to lie in my bed and think, when was Santana gonna make a drink?" And I totally agree that I wish Roy Rules was on here too...plus of course, if they could have made the hilarious video for I'm On A Boat available as a free download or something since it wasn't ready in time to be on the disc...

The album's pretty good, but about half the songs miss the mark and the sketches are dumb. "I'm on a Boat" is probably my favorite track ("I got a nautical-themed pashmina afghan" ), but that's likely due to the fact I watched the "Lazy Sunday" and "Dick in a Box" videos about a hundred times each. Also, "Natalie's Rap" was much funnier when everything was bleeped if you ask me.
My biggest complaint, however, is the lack of "Iran So Far." That song/video are fucking hilarious.

Ive played this non stop since Tuesday, great stuff. Natalie rap is uncensored on the CD, but is no where to be found on the DVD
As far as Iran so far:
"Iran So Far" wasn't included because the publishing company that covers "Avril 14th" was asking for WAY too much money. But that has nothing to do with Aphex Twin. He's been totally cool about it all, he and Jorm actually emailed a bit and he was fine with everything. So yeah, we were disappointed that it wasn't able to be included, but as they say in football, "You can't spend that much of your budget on clearing a sample for your comedy album." - Samberg
"No "Natalie's Rap" on the DVD, but that's a publishing issue for another day."

At least Natalie's Rap is available on DVD separately anyhow (V for Vendetta) - the other missing stuff isn't on disc anywhere.

Natalie's Rap is on the V for Vendetta DVD? Is it an easter egg? Is it censored?

The Lonely Island - New Album 2013
They just announced a new album coming this year.
Here's the first single featuring Adam Levine and Kendrick Lamar:

Re: The Lonely Island - New Album 2013
The Wack Album was released yesterday. A lot of the songs were put on YouTube with accompanying videos over the past month. It's fun, but overall I think it's novelty will wear off. Incredibad and Turtelneck & Chain were hilarious, and this one (although funny) doesn't contain catchy lyrics or anything to really warrant a second listening.
I'm actually really disappointed because collectively they're really talented, but I think this album falls flat.
You can check out the videos and some of the songs on their channel.
