I used to hear it on the radio and stuff all the time. The only lyrics I remember are: "and I miss you...like the deserts miss the rain"

Yeah, like I've never heard of Google. If artists would quit ripping off each others songs and using the same lyrics/titles a 100 times, that might actually be useful. In cases like this, it'd be more helpful if someone knew which artist/title was actually popular enough to be on the radio and which ones were just garbage.

But with only the information you gave us, I found several possibilities right at your finger-tips. From there you can go to youtube, last.fm, playlist.com, grooveshark, even amazon or itunes to sample the songs until you find it.

Sometimes it is difficult to locate songs online due to similarities in lyrics. If there is a song that I do not know but I want to look it up later I will try to pick out some lyrics that may stand out in a search. Usually if you can get an exact phrase and use quotations that can narrow your search, i.e. "like the deserts miss the rain".
